In 2025, we will propose to spin down full-set ICS, and replace it with PSS, where validators opt-in and are more responsive.

In place of ICS, we'll have a new, superior form of ATOM alignment - much better for both Hub and Cosmos chains!

XION's launch yesterday once again proved we're bringing the scale of Web2 over to Web3

We hit 2,500 requests per second (that translates to 9,000,000 per hour)

Having experienced this time and again on testnet, we had already 10x'd the RPC, indexer, server, and load balancing infrastructure (shoutout to the @lavender_five chads). As the engineering team likes to put it "we provisioned enough infrastructure to sell Taylor Swift tickets"

And, it went flawlessly - we saw over 420,000 (cool) accounts created in the first 24 hrs.

What we didn't anticipate, however, was how email providers would view this level of engagement. We hit such scale that Google thought they were under a DDOS attack, and about 4% of users experienced some slowdowns receiving their OTP code.

The team shipped incredibly fast to address this, adding in an addition sign-in with Google OAuth method within hours. In addition, an additional deduplication logic was added so that previous OTP users could access the same account.

This event also validates another thesis we hold strongly - the importance of decentralization and why we're working closely with the @zkemail team to bring zero-knowledge email sign-ins that are not reliant on any centralized email providers such as Google.

Overall, another demonstration of the team's ability to prepare, react & ship incredibly quickly. And of course, just one more datapoint indicating the true scale and adoption XION is bringing to Web3.
