I do not spank or scare my child. I grew up in fear and I want better for her. We deal in logical consequences. I would have said something similar. "We don't talk to each other that way. Any more bad words, and we'll go back to the room so no one else has to hear you." I am not angry, she isn't scared, the behavior stops.
