August was really a special month for me.
Not necessarily because I achieved everything I wanted to.
In fact, I know I could have done much more.
I hopped on quite a number of opportunities that eventually turned out to be futile.
Well… not exactly futile.
I just didn't get the monetary reward I expected from them.
Some of them include:
• The Telegram account I mainly used for Web3/crypto jobs getting banned.
• Sealing gigs that eventually ended up not paying.
• Creating a thread about $TOAD by @mdudas and ended up not getting any airdrop
• And creating a bunch of content, both articles and videos, around @CadeMarket
And honestly, that last one is what inspired this post.
I made this particular video for Cade Market, and even though the monetary reward I expected didn't come through, I'm genuinely glad I made it.
Why?
You may ask.
Because if not for the reward @Kosgoood and @PopPunkOnchain were offering people creating content around Cade Market, I probably wouldn't have unlocked this aspect of myself.
Initially, the idea I had for Cade Market was completely different.
(I eventually did that one too)
But this particular video?
It taught me way more than I expected, some of which include:
1. Sometimes, you just need to do it
The idea for the video literally came to me out of nowhere on that Sunday.
And I hesitated.
A LOT
I'd never done anything like that before, so my mind immediately started doing what it knows how to do best:
“What if it looks bad?”
“How will I look?”
“What if it's cringe?”
“What will people say?”
But at some point, I told myself:
“I must do this.”
And I did.
I didn't wait until I felt confident.
I did it while I was still scared.
And that's something I've come to understand:
Sometimes, confidence doesn't come before you start.
Sometimes, it comes because you started.
2. Most of the fear is in your head
One of the biggest fears we have is:
“What will people say?”
But the funny thing is, most people aren't thinking about you as much as you think they are.
They're busy thinking about themselves.
That thing you're overthinking?
That embarrassing moment you're imagining?
That video you're scared to post?
You might be the only person thinking about it that deeply.
And even if someone laughs?
So what?
You survived.
3. You have to embrace cringe.
This one is HUGE.
If you're constantly trying to look perfect, you'll never do anything new.
Your first video might be awkward.
Your first public speech might be terrible.
Your first attempt at something might make you cringe when you watch it six months later.
That's okay.
Cringe is often the price you pay for becoming better.
You can't become good at something you've never been willing to be bad at.
4. You kill fear by facing it.
I remember when I wanted to interview the first person for the video.
I was nervous.
And the funny thing?
He was my friend.
Someone I already knew,
Yet I was still nervous.
But I started,
Then I kept interviewing others.
And slowly, the fear started disappearing.
The same thing happened when I was about to post the video.
The fear was still there,
But I posted it anyway.
And after posting, I literally sat there thinking:
“What in God's name was I even scared of?”
😂
That video didn't just become another piece of content for me.
It broke something in me.
A fear I didn't even realise was holding me back.
And that's probably the biggest lesson August gave me:
Sometimes, what looks like a failed opportunity is actually an opportunity to discover a part of yourself you didn't know existed.
I didn't get the reward I expected.
But I got something else.
I discovered that I can walk up to people, put a camera in their face, ask questions, create something from an idea in my head, and actually put it out there.
And honestly?
I'll take that.
Because money can come and go.
But discovering a new version of yourself?
That's something nobody can take away from you.

This is a pretty big deal for me.
I just made an IRL onboarding video for @CadeMarket.
My first official video here on X.
My first public video.
And my first proper video edit. 😅
So yeah, this one means a lot to me.
The idea literally came out of the blues on Sunday.
We had just closed from service and, despite being tired asf from dancing like a maniac during praise, I told myself:
“I must overcome this fear.”
So I recorded it immediately.
I should have posted it since Monday, but apparently, life had other plans...
First, I got sick and could barely do anything all week (been forcing myself to come online).
Then I had issues subscribing to CapCut Pro, which I needed for the edit.
And just when I finally finished editing the video this afternoon...
My iPhone decided to go completely blank.
For over an hour.
At that point, I was like, “Okay, what exactly is going on here?”
But honestly, all these little obstacles only made me more determined to actually put this out.
Because if I keep waiting for the perfect time, I might never start.
So...
Here we are. 🫡
I really hope the @CadeMarket team loves this one.
And if this video happens to cross your timeline, please ensure to engage 💜
It genuinely means a lot to me, especially because of what this video represents.
Most importantly, don't forget to pre-register for the Meme Madness Tournament.
