Heard many reports criticising teachers for closing schools today.

Firstly, teachers i.e. those in the classroom don't close schools. It's not our decision.

Secondly the reality is 70% of parents took their children out of school today.

@MontgomeryToms It matters not what % of the atmosphere it is. What matters is how the increase in the amount of C02 affects the environment. Fact is since the 50s it is 42% higher.

Here is a simple analogy. Salt in human blood is 3200ppm. 0.32%. If it rises 42% it is potentially fatal.
