The drought situation has expanded over NWFL over the past week. We now have severe to extreme drought conditions. Rainfall totals over the past year are now 20" below average for a lot of our area. Don't expect much rain over the next week to improve things.

A Heat Advisory is in effect this afternoon for all of our Florida counties and portions of southern Georgia. Heat Indices are forecast to climb to between 108° to 112° in these areas with 104° to 107° elsewhere w/ highs between 92°-98°

There is a Marginal Risk (level 1/5) for severe weather this afternoon; a few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible, primarily across the FL Big Bend & southern GA. Damaging wind gusts are the main concern within any of the stronger storms.

A trough of low pressure will mosey into the NE Gulf over the upcoming work week. It has a 20% chance of developing into a tropical system over the next 7 days. Regardless of development, rain chances increase quite a bit by mid-week

@MitchpRTaggie Phenomenal job Mitch. So many memories - the T Junction, the Munday triangle, Tribune, Scott Ranch w/Dead Man Hill and the Old Disk Field, Sweetgrass checkpoint, Yak Hanager…. But, mostly the professional job Scott always provided. You did a great job of capturing it all!!

@TheHippieFarmer @MitchpRTaggie @JoeWecker He is good in general but they have had some continual health challenges. Sometimes hard to visit with real long due to voice getting weary fairly quickly. Linda has had two back surgeries and they are not traveling south for winters anymore. Missy was with us when we went.
