Head of Brand Partnerships @eBay. Passionate about all things technology, commerce and media; #Familyfirst (Allison and Ryan) and love the @TexasLonghorns
@velocoop LOL, i've been using it for the same purpose for weeks now. Incredibly impressive and spot on. The best aspect has been updating the initial query week by week as we've got more information or feedback/questions from family, etc. Better than the paid service :-(
1st sold item trivia? Ah yes, The broken laser pointer. Spent 7 years of career there rebuilding the Ads business. Wish them much luck in a challenging and increasingly difficult E-commerce landscape.
Immensely proud of @blakemckenna_13@djtaylor_52 for signing letters of intent this AM! Both 4yr lettermen, impact players on gameday, even better young men off the field. Excited to watch these dudes at the next level! Donโt forget the lessons you learned hereโฆ #OutWorkEveryone
LEARNING TO SELL
To better understand (and eventually disrupt) a local services industry, a product-centric founder joined a sales team at an established incumbent in the space. They did a 10 day blitz with this team, doing door to door sales, knocking on hundreds of doors and setting appointments.
They had 4 takeaways:
1. There is nothing quite like being on a high energy sales team driven by commissions. You truly understand the meaning of "incentives drive behavior". You only get paid a commission when you either set an appointment, or close the contract. That's it.
2. When you knock on someone's door to pitch your product in person, there is literally no place to hide. You become fearless, able to objection handle, and think on your feet.
3. The best in any field do really well. Some of the closers make $500k per year. A competitor saw this founder pitching and offered them a job both setting appointments and closing.
4. The founder was able to understand the key objections and product issues 100x better hearing it directly from customers when trying to sell to them, than by sitting at their computer and doing research.
There is a saying that learning to "carry a (metaphorical) suitcase" (i.e. doing quota driven sales) is one of the best jobs a young person can have. This founder's experience proved it.
Absolutely thrilled for this young man and his family! He'l be a tremendous asset to our country on the field and off! Without question, best #kicker in #TAPPS#outworkeveryone@JPIIHS_Football
@MikeSington Relatable on multiple levels and bravo to the @chevrolet marketing execs that embraced the opportunity to be a story enabler vs. an ROI calculator
I can't believe it! From my first game at ol' Arlington stadium in '77 (RIP grandpa Z) ...I never thought we'd be this fortunate to experience a World Series championship #thankful
Lucky to be in Dallas today. Our good friends at @camelotsmm are officially joining @pmgworldwide to form one of the largest independent advertising and media companies. Congrats! I canโt wait to see whatโs next! Please take a read. ๐
