And that's why they also don't have another SKU without RAM and storage - they've already piled up the stock and have to move it or they lose money. After all, they also want profits. Yachts don't grow on trees.

I don't think people get this, but despite the flawed marketing, Steam Machine isn't a replacement for a PC or a console. It's not made to sell millions of units. It's made to bring SteamOS and Valve's work on an open platform into the mainstream.

Buying the Steam Machine is simply the convenience and your investment into that platform - not that they need it with their store profits, it's just another option they wanted people to have - which current economy completely ruined.

Oh boi installing fresh Fedora 44 was pure bliss. Very much improved user experience from even 43, let alone earlier ones. RPM Fusion repos for Nvidia are right there in Discovery - just gotta tick a box, look up Nvidia driver, install, reboot, g2g. No more terminal-fu.
