Eventually, every kind of license should live on the blockchain. It should be possible for filmmakers to search a market like @OpenSea for art available to license, and purchase the license directly from artists, bypassing broker and agent fees, so the artist gets more $.

Clearing up some NFT misconceptions thread:

When an artist creates an NFT, they are implicitly licensing that token for sale and resale (often with a royalty attached to resale).

That gives the token owner the right to display it and resell it online.

Many films have art budgets in the tens of thousands.

Currently, the film industry has companies who broker rental art for use in TV and film. Those companies typically pay the "artist" 20% of the license fee, and an agent takes 15% - 25% of that.
