Wow! E2D gave away over 1 MILLION in free laptops to North Carolina 1st-Generation college students this year!

Today, we joined partner and grantee @E2DInc at @uncfsu to distribute free laptops to first-generation college students. This week alone, E2D is delivering 800 laptops to students across the state so they can complete courses, apply for internships and connect with professors.

As school starts back and we approach the 1-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene hitting Western NC, I had the privilege of teaming up with @NCDIT Sec. @TeenaPiccione , @ymcawnc , @CharterGov, @E2DInc and other community partners to hand out refurbished laptops to those who need them most in our region. This is a huge first step towards closing the digital divide in rural areas and making sure the next generation has the tools they need to succeed. #ncpol

This week, the E2D team traveled to the Tribal Lands of the Eastern Band of Cherokees. There, we distributed 200 laptops to Western North Carolina residents who needed them for their professional lives. 💻
