@letsrundotcom The most annoying thing with people complaining about Ramona’s wind is that they clearly know nothing about the sport, yet try to talk about it as if they’re an expert. Discus throwers have been “chasing wind” for PRs and WRs for literal decades, this is not new.
@jayfosterlaw@Row_Haastrup Yeah? Give some examples of all these studies then, meanwhile I’ll trust in the first-hand stories of pro athletes getting their asses handed to them by those that are more talented than they are.
@jayfosterlaw@Row_Haastrup Maybe not research, but plenty of pro-athletes have testimonials about how they were outclassed by the stars of their sports, even when both are doing the same amount of “hard work.” The difference being that some are just born more talented.
@AdamGussow@Row_Haastrup That’s a totally fair point, or take weightlifting as an example too, China dominates in the lower weight classes. was just talking about track and field since the video was featuring a track and field athlete.
@the_edem_guy Just rewatched this two weeks ago and personally I don’t think it’s symbolic, I think it’s more that the two Mayans are so stunned by what they’re seeing that they don’t even notice Jaguar Paw running away; or are too distracted to care
@samosasaurus I thought I’d be in the majority of saying the raft scene was incredibly disappointing, but I’ve been consistently proven wrong. Wasn’t for me, I thought it had little tension, and was rolling my eyes when the T-Rex just *vanished* while inflating the raft.
@atxgoodguy@CodyRayTaylor I don’t count it because he graduated high school a few months before he cleared that. And even if it did happen at a high school meet, 19-10 would’ve been 98.1% of the then world record, but Cooper’s performance clocks in at 98.7% of the current world record. And he’s only 16.
@CodyRayTaylor@atxgoodguy If we’re going purely off stats, Cooper’s is indeed the greatest of all time. His performance is over 98% of the 800m world record. Meanwhile, Mondo’s 19-5 is just over 96% of the then world record. But obviously opinions can differ, personally I’m a big stats guy.
@realPatrickJr Tell that to my neurologist at Walter Reed hospital (where the President is usually treated) who ran the entire sleep institute. 8 hours is 100% necessary, if not 9 or 10 hours for some folks.
