Aside from the Our Band Could Be Your Life era that I grew up with. The so called “fallow period” of rocknroli is my favorite. Talking about it with @batcountry1980 this morning but don’t want to keep clogging up his TL with my nonsense. We’ll have it here

@Watson_SLdn There are college football fans that have feelings toward the NFL that aren’t all that different. Fans of teams that have been playing since the 19th century. It’s generational with deep cultural significance. By comparison the NFL, and its stadiums, are plastic and fireworks.
Can the European mind comprehend this?
Probably…it’s just the same squares, a different cheap beer, and a smoker.
Maybe the bug spray can’t be fully appreciated because even I can’t comprehend what these damn mosquitoes are up to…relentless!
@tumpover@batcountry1980 I can’t wait to get in there. Don Gibson, Roy Orbison, Elvis…The Everly Brothers! Nevermind Chet Atkins, Buddy Harman, Bill Porter. Cathy’s Clown was recorded in the room!
@batcountry1980 On the other hand there’s J&M Sudio in New Orleans. Need I go over WTF all went down in that place? It’s now a laundromat …yes people wash their dirty drawers in there now. Infuriates me every time I pass it.
@batcountry1980@ThomasTerrier99 My feelings about the Beatles are kind of a running joke for the handful of people who read my TL but I was raised by a Beatlemaniac mother. I heard my share coming up. The only record of their’s I ever took possession of was the Rock n Roll Music Vol 1. compilation.
