No sleep at all during my overnight "sleep study," so I guess it is early on #ThyreophoranThursday. Polacanthid ankylosaur teeth. Got those from the new Berriasian species shot, cropped, and mounted. Given how common polacanthids are, the little teeth are rare.

#2024SVP @e_g_cross: Large size is a good benchmark for identifying teeth of large nodosaurids, and outline analysis can sometimes identify specific ankylosaur clades. But there is substantial overlap, and traditional morphometrics don’t help much.

Last week we announced some exciting results from this summer's fieldwork on the Spatsizi Plateau - we found a bonebed at the top of the mountain we camp under and brought back over 90 bones from multiple species of dinosaurs.
