Alan McLeod

Sharing the joy of doing a maths degree for fun in my fifties. I mostly follow maths, science and art people.

So. Not after ‘baubles’? Ms ‘I won’t resign til I know what happened to my Damehood’… #NadineDorries

@Anthony_Bonato Also more boring. It’s relatable but agree that basically everyone uses it. I prefer the London Underground map.

On my way to Threads. Lack of blocking with make the toxicity here unbearable. Signing off all. Anyone who wants to follow me on Threads or Instagram, I am on both as s0methin9_n3w I’ll give it a week then delete this account.

@CheekyWind @MarinaPurkiss I like a good mosh pit. Generally lots of friendly people having fun. The opposite of this platform :(

[Alan McLeod @e_ixpi_plus_1]

@MarinaPurkiss Yup. That’s me gone.

@kornula @mrcharlton6 @HelenWebberley Two medical conditions eh? Well that simplifies the whole of medical practice. And probably makes all of Big Pharma bankrupt.

@TodayInAcademia @LongFormMath And it is.

[Alan McLeod @e_ixpi_plus_1]

@LongFormMath Probably the highest number used in antiquity was a myriad myriad (100 million). If 0 is not Natural then I propose any number greater than a myriad myriad be removed from the Naturals too.

[Alan McLeod @e_ixpi_plus_1]

@LongFormMath Yes. The natural numbers are meant to represent normal counting numbers. In most older cultures they would not count much more than a few hundred or thousand things so if 0 is not Natural, then can we consider very large numbers as Natural?

[Alan McLeod @e_ixpi_plus_1]

@dane_marianne What about more masculine looking women?

[NHS Million @NHSMillion]

Did you know?

A new £100 million private hospital will be opening next year on the grounds of an NHS trust.

The new hospital will belong to a US-owned private healthcare company, HCA UK.

RT if you think everyone should be aware.

[Alan McLeod @e_ixpi_plus_1]

@justinesgender Yup. I’ve been a Buddhist for over 30 years so it’s always good to hear Buddhist thought.

[Alan McLeod @e_ixpi_plus_1]

@RishiSunak So the energy will be for us. The companies drilling for the oil will be legally prevented from exporting to the highest bidder? No? Thought not.
