Hi #PathX! 👋
I'm Sara, a US-IMG from Iran and a research fellow at @DukeU. Thrilled to be applying to #PathMatch2026 this year and hoping to make a lifelong dream come true!🔬🥰
Outside of pathology, I love journaling 📔, oil painting 🎨, photography 📷, and listening to true-story podcasts🕵️♀️.
Excited to connect with future pathologists and mentors along the way!

How to report intestinal metaplasia when you receive specimens labeled as
-Distal esophagus: Barrett's esophagus (BE)
-Squamocolumnar junction or Z-line: Consistent with Barrett's esophagus if biopsies were taken proximal to Gastroesophageal junction (GEJ)
-GEJ: Do not diagnose Barrett's unless you see esophageal ducts or glands (see next post 👇). Say in a comment the differential diagnosis includes BE and intestinal metaplasia of gastric cardia
