Last night, Patriots performed well, successfully intercepting Russian ballistic missiles. Yet we still need considerably more forces, systems, and compatible missiles to protect lives.

This week, the Nordic countries – Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway – along with our Baltic friends, decided to commit an additional $500 million to the PURL initiative, which will be a substantial help.

We are also working on deliveries of other advanced air defense systems and strengthening our aviation – a major deal with France is in preparation and will be finalized soon – a historic agreement.

We are setting up a deal with Greece as well – on energy to maximize options for gas supplies to Ukraine, both for this winter and strategically for the long term.

Agreements with various European countries, from Norway to Greece, will ensure our state's gas supply guarantees. I thank all partners who are helping.

Since last night, our emergency services have been working at the sites of the Russian strikes. A wicked attack – as of now, we know of dozens of wounded, including children and a pregnant woman. Sadly, four people have been killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. About 430 drones and 18 missiles were used in the strike, including ballistic and aeroballistic missiles.

This was a deliberately calculated attack aimed at causing maximum harm to people and civilian infrastructure. In Kyiv alone, dozens of apartment buildings have been damaged. The Azerbaijani Embassy was hit by debris from an Iskander missile. The main target of the attack was Kyiv, and strikes also hit Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions. According to preliminary data, the Russians used a Zircon missile in the Sumy region this morning. Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko has already reported on the progress of rescue operations at the sites. I am grateful to everyone helping our people. Commander of the Air Force Anatolii Kryvonozhko also reported on the results of our air defense work. I thank our warriors for their effective actions.

Ukraine is responding to these strikes with long-range strength, and the world must stop these attacks on life with sanctions. Russia is still able to sell oil and build its schemes. All of this must end. A great deal of work is underway with partners to strengthen our air defense, but it is not enough. We need reinforcement with additional systems and interceptor missiles. Europe and the United States can help. We are counting on real decisions. Thank you to everyone who helps.

We need more pressure on Russia. According to the situation on the battlefield, we don't see that Russia wants to stop. The problem is, looking at the defense military industry of Russia, we see that they increase their production. And our estimation is that they want to continue this war.

We think that if we have big pressure, the Russians will need a pause. But we have to recognize that they want a big war and prepare to be ready in 2029 or 2030 – in this period of time – to begin such a big war. On the European continent. We look at this like a really big challenge.

I think that we have to think about how to stop them now in Ukraine. But also to do everything to decrease their capabilities. Not to give them money, which they still can get from energy. And not to give them weapons. So, this is the problem we have to think about.

Putin is in an impasse when it comes to real successes on the battlefield. The situation looks more like a stalemate for him. Why? Because for us it’s very hard, but we are at home and defending what is ours. Society defends, the military defends, the whole body of the state defends itself from this attack.

His situation is different. First, he has radicalized public opinion toward this issue through information. Second, he promised objectives he has not achieved, so he needs to show some gains. And that is why all the energy attacks are dangerous – to demonstrate: “Look, I supposedly have a plan – there we pressure with weapons, and here we attack.” And why do these attacks turn into terrorist acts, why do civilians die, and many are wounded, why are people left without electricity and water? Because he cannot create tension in our society in any other way. He understands that we have united the whole state and rallied all of Europe around us, and breaking that unity is very difficult. He is trying to do it.

Now he needs to show that he dominates. He wants to find some operations he can present as successes to his society. These are drones, or an energy attack on us, or a cyberattack on Germany, the United Kingdom, France, or an attack on choice, political choice, during elections in some country where far-right representatives could come to power – who, let’s say, are ideologically closer to today’s Putin. This is hybrid warfare. And it is exactly like that. It is a hybrid war in Europe, and Ukraine pays the highest price for it, because the physical war is taking place on our territory.

Un día como hoy, pero de 1989, caía el siniestro muro de Berlín y con ello la mentira del socialismo real.

En su caída quedó al descubierto el fracaso de la utopía socialista, cuya lección más importante es que bienestar y justicia son dos caras de la misma moneda.

Por ende, nada que salga de valores despreciables como la envidia, el odio, el resentimiento, la quita de la libertad, la injusticia y el asesinato (la base de valores subyacentes en todo experimento socialista) terminará de buena manera. Sólo traerá miseria y violencia a su paso.

Today, we can already say there is a good result for our air defense – Ukraine now has more Patriots. I thank Chancellor Merz, I thank Germany, and everyone who helps – our agreements have been fulfilled. More Patriots are now in Ukraine and being put into operation.

Of course, more systems are needed to protect key infrastructure sites and our cities across the entire territory of Ukraine, and we will continue working to obtain them – not only at the political level with states and leaders but also directly with manufacturers of all necessary air defense systems and missiles for them.

Following the 1948 war, in which the Arabs failed to defeat Israel and drive the Jews into the sea (not to be confused with the 1967 war, in which the Arabs failed to defeat Israel and drive the Jews into the sea, or the 1973 war, in which the Arabs failed to defeat Israel and drive the Jews into the sea), almost a million Jews (many of whom had lived there for millennia) were expelled from Arab countries. They were harrassed, beaten up and had their possessions and homes stolen (for which they have never been compensated). Some were murdered.

Those fortunate enough to escape left with literally the clothes on their backs and nothing more. In response, Israel opened its doors and welcomed them with open arms.

This was the Jewish catastrophe, the one no-one talks about. In 1948 (prior to expulsion), there were well over 900,000 Jews living in Arab countries. Today there are less than 3,500. In 1948, there were around 950,000 Arabs living in Israel.

Today there are 1,720,000. This week, we commemorate the loss and suffering experienced by almost a million Jews, the Jewish ‘nakba’, the one nobody talks about.

Our Foreign Intelligence has located specific addresses of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.

We are providing our partners with lists of children who must be returned.

This is a sensitive issue, with a great deal of quiet diplomatic work underway.

To foil any Russian attempt to claim they supposedly know nothing about these children, we are ensuring that addresses are included as well.

The first such list – containing over 300 surnames, first names, and addresses of abducted children – will be on the desks of all the leaders assisting in this effort.

Response efforts are ongoing in Kyiv following the Russian attack. All the necessary emergency services are working at the sites. Last night, Russia launched more than 100 drones against us. Ordinary apartment buildings in several districts of the city have been damaged. Unfortunately, as of now, three people are known to have been killed in the attack. My deepest condolences to their families. Dozens have been injured, including children.

Every Russian strike is an attempt to inflict as much damage as possible on ordinary life. This week, they’ve been striking residential buildings, our people, children, and civilian infrastructure. These are the main targets for the Russians. Thousands of strikes with various types of weapons: in just one week, Russia has used nearly 1,200 attack drones, more than 1,360 guided aerial bombs, and over 50 missiles of different types against Ukraine.

Under all these strikes, Ukraine has continued to defend itself actively – on the battlefield, in the sky, and through diplomacy. There are significant results regarding the pressure on Russia: the 19th EU sanctions package and new U.S. sanctions targeting Russian oil. We are grateful to our partners for these steps, but it is important not to stop here. We count on the synchronization of these sanctions across the G7 and other partner jurisdictions. And, of course, additional tariff and sanctions restrictions are needed against Russia and all those helping it stay afloat. Certainly, pressure will help bring about peace. I thank everyone who contributes to this.

❗️🇫🇷🇺🇦 French President Emmanuel Macron announced that in the coming days Ukraine will receive a new batch of Mirage-2000-5F fighter aircraft, as well as new surface-to-air missiles for the SAMP/T air-defence systems (likely ASTER-15s, and possibly ASTER-30s for ballistic-missile interception).

▪️ He stated that a new training programme for retraining Ukrainian military pilots will be launched, which envisages shortened timelines and increased training effectiveness.

I want to express my particular gratitude to the United Kingdom and France: there is a decision from France to provide Ukraine with additional Mirage fighter jets and air defense missiles, while the UK will continue to assist us with air defense by supplying missiles and producing interceptor drones – thank you for that.

There are also new decisions by Finland and Spain to contribute to the PURL initiative – a mechanism for procuring American weapons, including missiles for the Patriots. We are working on this with full focus, and our defense arrangements with European partners are working clearly. We are preparing new projects – there will be more joint weapons production.

And for the world to address Russia from a position of strength, we in Ukraine must stand on strong ground ourselves. It’s crucial to always compare what the Russians were commanded to do and by when, with what they actually managed to achieve. Ukraine’s resistance is truly heroic.
