In Canada, you have the option to remove your child from both religious studies and sex education at any time.
However, you do not have the option to remove other people's children from those same classes.
*Reminder for those protesting, your province sets the curriculum.
Pretty much everyone has forgotten that the feds were told to get out of social housing and simply transfer money to the provinces. The provinces took the money and many did nothing.
@GrievingBloke One day, one hour, one moment at a time. Inch by painstaking inch you find a reason to keep moving forward. 5 years for me and I still have my moments, but nothing compares to the hell of the first year.
This montage is for the know-it-all-bros clutching their pearls about wearing a mask in a hospital. 🙄
Also, Francis Galton (white guy) coined the term eugenics in 1883 he was a big fan of social Darwinism, eugenics + scientific racism.
140 yrs later + look at us. 😞
Lifting mask mandates from hospitals will put patients & staff in harm's way, especially the immunocompromised. I am yet to meet one nurse who thinks removing masks will reduce burnout. I can tell you that equitable pay, a supportive & safe work environment, will reduce burnout.
@OliveSprouts Hi! Yes I remember. The first thing I did when I joined Twitter was look for other breastfeeding and baby wearing mamas. My baby from then is now taller than me and sprouting a moustache.
With my sisters at the #IWD2023 rally last Sat. On this #InternationalWomenDay, let’s pledge to support the workers who educate our children and care for our seniors. ECEs, PSWs, nurses need higher wages and better working conditions. @ChildcareON@AECEO @VHACaregiving
@MikeSchreiner Thank you for your thoughtful words and for continuing to be a strong voice in queens park for progressives all over the province. I think it’s the right decision and am hopeful for electoral cooperation between progressive parties moving forward.
@GeneralGoth @shaTIRED I was at your current prescription when I had it done 20 yrs ago. It was absolutely as life changing as getting glasses in the first place - same feeling of awe and wonder at properly seeing the world! I’ve regressed back to -1.50 now and still don’t regret a thing.
@KarynRN4 @jocelyne_jocey @monicaYQR @hburkitt Homecare nurse here also 🙋♀️ If I have a gap been visits I’ll pop into the grocery store or run some errands. I don’t really care how it’s perceived, but I typically I wear a fleece or jacket anyway, and my pants are usually black/grey/navy so don’t look too scrub-like.
@JBradshaw01 We had 1 major project/presentation, and I was fiesty enough that I decided I’d use my opportunity to teach him how to teach. Lol. I made a dynamic, involved presentation that I put my soul into, but my dude wasn’t there, my date to present was in Jan.
@JBradshaw01 He was supposed to retire in June but never came back after Christmas break. Various supply teachers filled in until the course ended in Jan.
I promised myself last year that I'd write about all of this in time for it to be published before Christmas. And if it weren't for a chance night of music in November, I may have forgotten entirely.
But it reminded me, and I convinced The Walrus: https://t.co/duIi4FA1Sf
On March 17, 2023, Canada will expand MAiD for mental illness without any plan to provide comprehensive access to mental healthcare for people who desperately need it. In other words, it will be easier to access MAiD than to access mental healthcare. This is beyond alarming.
