As #NEPAD turns 25,it is important to note that it was the first comprehensive #continental development framework conceived, designed, and managed entirely by African #leaders (specifically the heads of state of South Africa, Nigeria, Senegal, Algeria, and Egypt). It explicitly rejected the #oldmodel of passive "recipient" of #aid. Instead, it declared that Africa must take primary responsibility for its own development, peace, and security. This thinking led to the creation of @APRMorg & @NEPAD_Agency both being pillars of #NEPAD
Before #NEPAD, « donor countries »demanded good #governance as a prerequisite for aid, which often was a violation of sovereignty. NEPAD transformed this into a reciprocal partnership based on #mutualcommitments @Bankole_Adeoye@EstherineF
@NEPAD_Agency Grateful for our incredible partners. Your support is key to realizing our vision of a sustainable, integrated energy future for Africa.
Access to energy is more than just flipping a switch; it's flipping the switch on opportunities for millions of Africans. (3/3)

More than enough agricultural innovations & technology can place healthy food within reach of every person. We must boost support for our women & men across the continent who bring food systems to life, from farmers & workers to those who transport food to our markets. @EstherineF
