12 hours today on Godot 4.7.
Events and listeners are already easier to bind and more comprehensible in Godot than in Unreal, and they're easier to debug.
I'm going to work with Godot until I'm back at the point where I was in Unreal, and then decide which engine I'm keeping.
ngl seeing how much people love her design has boosted my confidence a bit too
my nose was one of the things people made fun of. now im seeing people call the same features cute and beautiful!!!!
its honestly been very healing ♡ i love you yasmine
Unreal Engine is really testing my patience.
Block of validation code works fine when expanded. Fails when collapsed into a function, node, or macro.
Works when expanded again.
Restart editor, collapses and works fine.
WTF.
When I'm selling my games, I want my clients in this order:
1. The people willing to pay in their home region
2. The people using locality bypass to buy somewhere cheaper
3. The people who pirate
All three - ALL THREE - are valid. Games exist to be played.
1.3 MILLION PEOPLE ASKED THE EU TO STOP COMPANIES FROM DELETING GAMES THEY PAID FOR.
THE ANSWER WAS NO.
The "Stop Killing Games" initiative wanted one thing: when publishers pull the plug, don't let them remotely destroy copies people already bought.
The European Commission's official response:
- It will not require publishers to keep games playable - says forcing them would go too far
- Reason given: publishers' copyright and IP rights come first. Your purchase comes second.
- The solution: a voluntary code of conduct, developed together with the same industry that kills games
- Plus an awareness campaign reminding you of the consumer rights you supposedly already have
1.3 million signatures. Years of work. Multiple hearings.
And the part that says everything: according to the campaign, Ubisoft got a seat at a closed-door meeting with the Commission before the decision. The 1.3 million people who signed did not.
Publishers can still brick your purchase whenever they feel like it.
If buying still isn't owning, then at least now it's official.

SF6 Yasmine's hair flip & personality change (pink highlights up = fight time) is inspired by The Philippines' national flag.
In the Philippines, the country raises its flag with the red side up during war or times of crisis. If it's calm, the red side is down.

@twilightocarina They did what they could with it, but the concept does not fit well to the control scheme.
With a few generations of design insights, though, those can definitely be fixed, if they ever remake it.
Enumerations and Maps are useful, but the Spawn Actor node can't be Exposed On Spawn unless the Spawn is specified in advance.
I need to run a Switch with different Spawn Actor requests for each possible enemy. This allows me to assemble the enemy in any configuration I want.
This is biblical.
A woman in her eighties. Ten years into Alzheimer's. Hadn't spoken a full sentence in five years.
Takes one, 5 gram dose of psilocybin.
She slept 19 hours and woke up and spoke for hours about her life, recognized family and held real conversations. She regained bladder control after five years, walked on her own. and dressed herself. Gains held for weeks.
@ArchaeaZero hahahah, no my fantastical transformation was going from 127lbs to 225lbs over a decade. Reversing course, now that I'm in Thailand, though.
Do it because it's right there, right now. Convince yourself it's the most efficient way to do things.
I'm unmedicated ADHD and it's the only way I get things done, right now.
@noobde Anybody NOT saying Shaolin Monks is utterly mad. It's popular and decades overdue.
Then please take them up on the Shaolin Monks movie idea. Buddy cop dynamic in the 'Realms with them upstaging each other. Please.
