Streatham roadworks update:
Leigham Court Rd - Thames Water carrying out backfill and reinstatement today, and the site will be cleared by end of play today. TW have incurred a week of overrun charges.
Valley Road - utility works continue. Road expected to reopen by Friday eve.
Newly stupid cycle box design, Lower Richmond Road / Putney Bridge junction.
Who on Earth thinks these things up?
There's no cycle lane on the left, so you can't get into it that way, and a traffic island on the right, meaning you can't go that way either.
The lady driver quickly dropped her mobile phone though. At least there's a result. Pretty quick response really, as didn't get her holding it on video. Lucky escape...

After being advised that I'm “Not WEArinG ENoUGH lighTS,” I now have ELEVEN on me when I cycle in the dark. So was this truck driver trying to take me out, or what?

Driving instructors who took part in a government cycle awareness pilot scheme are less likely to believe that cyclists are “nuisances” on the road or often at fault for collisions – and more likely to teach learner drivers about cycle safety

I seem to have upset the @Nigel_Farage fan club - so let me be clear.
This man sows hate, lies and division.
He is a grifter and a conman.
He does not represent the vast majority of Britons.
RT if you agree
P.s. multiculturalism is great.
This van has just ploughed into the "pedestrian island" on Valley Road. Unacceptable danger.
What if a pedestrian had been crossing here?
Is this the new normal for this local street? When will the LTN resume?
@RezinaChowdhury @clairekholland@MalcolmClark77
@theJeremyVine You’re bang on. Each cyclist belongs to someone: a grandmother, sister, son, grandchild, brother, uncle, auntie, teacher, surgeon. Each time I ride a motorist scares the life out of me: close passes, left turns, speeding. @willnorman please do more.
@LARKgoooner@andrewellson@TwofeetgoodSE21 Great no future for those who come behind us. Bring on the obese cars!
By the way Se21 was Tory for at least a decade. Labour is relatively new in this corner of London.
@LARKgoooner@andrewellson Well in many communities including the one that @TwofeetgoodSE21 lives in (or at least aligns themselves with) the battle lines were clearly drawn. Majority of candidates who ran a campaign to remove LTNs - LOST.
@andrewellson So if a LTN was introduced prior to the last local London election and were re-elected* with an increased majority would you agree the LTNs were generally popular in the borough?
*Re-elected despite a negative campaign against the said council and councillors
@TwofeetgoodSE21 @ConnellanTim @DulwichReopen@RM_Leeming @connellanTim resorts to ad hominem attacks with every Tweet. Why @TwofeetgoodSE21 do you follow him? His Tweets get multiple views but 0 likes. He adds nothing to the debate and only harms your antiLTN arguments.
@Theyellowhouse_@TfL Looks like too many people are choosing to drive. If those who want to drive get off the road there would be room for those who really need to drive - eg elderly, disabled, parents with lots of kids. Tories going to their second homes - oh wait.

@YourSUVsucks@StreathamLTN They just won’t or don’t see the bigger picture. They think it’s all about today, which is why some get out there with their clipboards counting. What they can’t accept is the mayor & councillors are trying to get to a better place in the next decade.
