We’re committed to speeding up the transition to cleaner, electric transport. Find out more about how we’re working with @SPEnergyNetwork@SmrtrGridSols & @PTVGroup on the Charge project to support public #EV charging infrastructure roll-out. #WorldEVDay2020
Fab to hear that @Northpowergrid and @eatechnology won the "Game Changer" award for AutoDesign at today's @network_mag#NetworkAwards2020. Such a cool product!

We are delighted to be behind this project. The software output will revolutionise network planning and connections requests. Essential for the #NetZero targets and powering #ElectricVehicles@Northpowergrid@ofgem @OLEVgovuk @beisgovuk @EnergySysCat
AutoDesign is built on our knowledge and experience. We've taken @Northpowergrid's data and
• Presented it on maps that can be viewed on any modern browser
• Undertaken complex load assessment to indicate connection possibilities
• Accurately calculated cost of new connections
We're excited to announce the Securing a Green Future campaign which will raise awareness of the role energy network companies play in tackling the climate emergency. Visit the site for info https://t.co/sC3LDcQil4 and follow updates at @GreenFutureUK and https://t.co/fM53uyK2Zy
We are up and running for our first day at the LCNI Conference in Glasgow. You can visit us on stand E05 today and tomorrow (30th-31st October).

@ElectricNation_ project dissemination event concluded that power networks will cope with EVs, but investment in strengthening some networks, smart charging and time of use tariffs all needed. @eatechnology @wpduk @energynetworks See our write up here https://t.co/q0kCbFzqyr
Fascinating joint BEIS/Ofgem letter to the ENA on the desired future for smarter GB grid networks @EnergySysCat @wpduk @SPEnergyNetwork @ofgem https://t.co/dmMZTVgw5v
However the National Infrastructure Commission believe the infrastructure should be in place by 2030...
That’s 16GW of new connections for public charging by our reckoning - hence kicking off the Charge project with @SPEnergyNetwork@eatechnology

@Gill_Nowell @FullyChargedDan @aeastlake@ng_eso 30m cars are not going to connected to the grid any time soon. #fes2019 is 12m by 2030. So grid capacity concerns will be dealt with. As we have previously stated EVs are complimentary to renewables and should be encouraged as they help decarb transport & power.
And here’s the punchline.. EV charging with a combination of domestic smart charging, a customer App, *AND* a time of use tariff has been proven to massively reduce the impact on the grid (and benefit the customers) 😀👍🚘@ElectricNation_@eatechnology @wpduk
Lessons learnt? A smart charger HAS to consumer ready and “work out the box” Broadband internet reliability was a issue in some cases. There needs to be improved mobile #data connections.

@eatechnology @wpduk @DriveElectricUK @OLEVgovuk
Thanks @Gill_Nowell. With over 130,000 charging events, @ElectricNation_ has to be the most significant EV / network related project currently happening anywhere in the world @wpduk @eatechnology@DriveElectricUK
