A video circulating on social media shows students from Moi Girls Sindo in Suba South Constituency (formerly Gwasi) in Homabay County, taking it upon themselves to repair a vital road that serves as the main access route to their school.

The constituency is currently represented by MP Caroli Omondi.

Locals argue that while the primary responsibility for local infrastructure development and maintenance lies with the sitting Member of Parliament, this situation also raises concerns given the constituency’s connection to a prominent government official, John Mbadi, the current Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, who is a former MP in the area.

They are now calling on both local and national leaders to urgently address the deteriorating state of the road.
