@RTB_HRoss So the flood didn't go everywhere when it covered the mountains? It only covered the parts where people lived?
So if people lived on a plateau above a valley but not *in* the valley, the floodwaters didn't fill the valley...only the land above the valley where humanity lived?
@Eshaygel@Guardians_Bane@anchoredso37497 What's north of the north pole is south (and east & west). Everything & nothing are north of the north pole.
The 'north' indicator is meaningless in this example because space-time simply wraps around into itself.
Where is the starting/ending point of the surface of a sphere?
@unsaidsayer7_25@_Ochiedike@AgainstAtheismX You really can't see the connection between your 'a rapist saying oopsie' commentary and my question about tens of thousands of abusers/rapists among god's annointed representatives on earth? And whether such folk 'go to heaven'?
@unsaidsayer7_25@_Ochiedike@AgainstAtheismX Off-topic, but...yeah, probably.
All those priests and bishops (and all the other holy men on up the line who covered for the abusers)...were they tricking god? Do they possess the ability to redeem themselves?
@QuackedUp76@Mimosa48@iamAtheistGirl I'm sure plenty of people *believe* that their misfortune was related to the appearance of #13 (or a crack on the sidewalk, or spilling salt, or walking under a ladder, or not praying correctly, etc.)...but it wasn't.
@QuackedUp76@Mimosa48@iamAtheistGirl Correct. *Belief* in them still exists.
But the misfortune that purportedly comes from using the number 13 or stepping on a sidewalk crack, for example, does *not* exist.
@anchoredso37497@RobertGKepes Give us examples of your experiences with deep-level atheists who worship themselves, materialism, money, career, praise, etc.
These should be specific examples that are rooted in non-belief, rather than the typical obsession that many (theists included) have for those things.
@Riggswolfe@anchoredso37497@RobertGKepes That is 100% the gist: theists cannot understand the notion that some/many people do *not* have a compulsion to worship something.
