Great stuff. Another interesting part of history is that the Crypto Wars started as a consequence of the US Government's attempt to ban #encryption, by classifying it as 'munition' in the 1970s.

If you are wondering what animated them to create Bitcoin:

April 5 = FDR signed order 6102 making it illegal for Americans to own gold

1975 = Americans could legally own gold again

@NoderOf Good point! It seems that after the first halving, the *time relative* correlation has increased a lot. It will be interesting to see how closely it follows, given $zec's amazing improvements to the technology.

#Zcash ( $ZEC ) just closed its 10th green day on the market. It is a pretty rare event. The last time this happened to #Bitcoin, was in October 2013. Within 2 months its price increased by over 700%. 🤯

@Milkman2228 #STORJ is also an interesting one. The increase in the development of #DApps will definitely further promote the value of Decentralized File Storage Systems and Protocols improving the whole ecosystem. How else would build a Decentralized Web App?

@LayahHeilpern I disagree. Seeing as you are a proponent for #Bitcoin, I would like to point out that the idea of #Blockchain and #Cryptography directly comes from Privacy concerns. Also, I am sure you wouldn't be comfortable sharing your personal address, or bank information on the Internet.

In conclusion: It is easy to give #privacy for granted, but once we lose it, taking it back is going to be a hard struggle. Make sure you value it.

The importance of #Privacy: A thread

While reading about #DeFi, I was inevitably caught by the concept of #privacy. If you have a few spare minutes, here are some points that I find important:
