I also urged the protesters to remain calm, suspend their demonstration, and refrain from any act that could lead to a breakdown of law and order, while trusting the government to intervene decisively.

Earlier today, on behalf of the Osun State Government, I engaged residents of Iloba and Olosape communities from the Egbedore Local Government Area, who staged a peaceful protest aimed to draw the government’s attention to a lingering land dispute in their area.
While addressing d demonstrators, I assured them that d state, under d able leadership of His Excellency, remains deeply committed 2 peace, security, & justice 4 all residents. I further assured them dat their concerns would b formally communicated through d appropriate channels.
The protesters, comprising men, women, and youths, alleged that they had suffered repeated attacks linked to the dispute. They further reported that some members of their communities were assaulted earlier in the day, resulting in injuries and hospitalization.
I have also renewed my call for the reinstatement of a viable and independent Students’ Union, with the electoral process already underway, all hands must be on deck to ensure that the process ends with the birth of a new, vibrant and independent Students Union.
Yesterday was a deeply humbling and heart-warming moment for me as I received the prestigious award from the students of my beloved alma mater, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, through the Students’ Union Committee, in recognition of my contributions to the students’ community.
My heartfelt gratitude goes to the Students’ Union, ably led by Deborah Olaniyi, and to the Dean of Students, Dr. Tope Abiola, for this honour. You have rekindled my resolve to keep standing for the rights, welfare, and progress of students everywhere.
