It is with extreme sadness to let you know that WBCA Executive Director and former Cuba City basketball legend Jerry Petitgoue passed away this afternoon. No one had a bigger impact on the game of basketball in Wisconsin. You were truly a special person. Love you from the WBCA
@MikeNeighbors@coachneighbors Sorry to hear about you moving on from your dream job Coach. You're always welcome here in the Hawkeye state. Thank you for your generous advice over the years.
@RazorbackWBB Best to you Coach Neighbors. You've been a stand up guy, always gracious with your time and commitment to the growth of programs and coaches nation-wide. We all get in this business to be let go. Sad reality.

@VanshayM You can't have poor shooting in this league. Teams take advantage. Too much standing around, watching someone go 1 on 5. You're open for a reason! U can't make em consistently. That includes layups. If u beat ur defender and chuck up bricks, why help off. Same as a turn over.
It's like they set their schedule up to get the high CC ratings for their best teams. To show them off. But will have the side effect of turning away all the new casual fans that want to see her succeed. Attendance and viewership are going to tank soon.
We are going to be real here.
The WNBA is awful at marketing the WNBA.
The WNBA would be better off letting some teenagers that grew up using social media market their league.
The @WNBA also should have consulted the @NFL about scheduling or they should have consulted PBC Boxing.
Because the NFL is the best league at scheduling, and boxing promoters understand how to slowly build their stars with easy fights to start their careers.
They literally should have had Angel Reese and Caitlin Clarke play in Week 1 of the WNBA regular season on national television.
The WNBA also doesn't understand that Angel Reese and Caitlin Clarke are stars because of social media.
I literally know more about Angel Reese and Caitlin Clarke because of TheShaderoom, NeighborhoodTalk, and SpiritWord than I do from ESPN.
I don't even follow those accounts on Instagram but the algorithm and the explore page sends what it sends.
I bet you ain't nobody from the @WNBA front office thought of doing an advertising deal with those pages for at least 2 years to pump up their young Superstars along with Pubity and FashionNova accounts on Instagram.
Literally Angel Reese got 2.5 Million views on X on an iPhone and I know nobody at the WNBA front office said they need to do a simulcast on X of some of Caitlin Clarke and Angel Reese games on X like the Manning Cast does for the NFL.
They ain't called Gilbert Arenas, Rebecca Lobo, Jemele Hill (you), and Cam'Ron and said let's do the WNBA simulcast exclusively on X. Latto can even guest appear on the simulcast once a month.
Elon Musk is literally trying to turn X into a video content app destination in real time as we speak.
The front office of the @WNBA is pitiful at marketing their league, and that is an understatement
@IowaJustinCool@jtlinder I've liked the play when CC was out of the line up. Syd will be the glue. I'd love to see Heiden be able to go in the 4/5 spot and play a 2 post game. But not sure Coach B wants to do that, she'll have plenty of shooters. Needs r both ends 1&5 to step up. I'm sure they will.
Jay Wright said, "Your attitude is your greatest characteristic. You don't control your intelligence, your size, or your God-given talents. What you do control, though, is your attitude. We can all have a positive attitude."
Your attitude is a choice.
It's a choice on how you want to respond to life's challenges.
• A positive attitude is a choice for hope and belief.
• A negative attitude is a choice for negativity and problems.
There will always be adversity, but it's your attitude and mindset that will determine how far you go.
6 Ways To Improve Your Attitude:
1. Create an Attitude of Gratitude - Feed yourself positivity, gratitude, and greatness instead of listening to complaining, negativity, and doubt. Spend time thinking about the positive aspects of your life. Research shows that practicing gratitude daily can lead to improved mood and overall well-being.
2. Prioritize What's Within Your Control - It starts with your ability to focus. Take ownership and control of what you can control. When you realize that you can control your mindset and attitude, you start to view external challenges for what they are, just challenges. Have a growth-mindset and believe that you can grow and improve
3. Transform Your Negative Self-Talk - Challenge your negative thoughts. Replace your negative words with positive affirmations. Your words are powerful, especially the words that you speak to yourself. Studies show that positive self-talk can enhance your confidence and reduce stress.
4. Stay Present - BE HERE NOW - When you focus on the present, you reduce stress and anxiety because you aren’t worrying about the past or anxious about the future. All we have is the present moment. Your attitude and mindset depends on your ability to be mindful of your environment.
5. Create Positive Moments and Connect - Connect with others and spend time with the people that you like. When you have an attitude of connection, you look for positivity and realize your effect on others. You also realize that others bring you support in those times of need.
6. Believe in Yourself and Your Future - Cultivate self-belief. Research has shown that having a positive self-view predicts improves your self-esteem and confidence. When you believe in your future, you take ownership and responsibility for your choices and actions because you believe they will affect your future.
