@webdevMason@wil_da_beast630 I'm not pro death penalty, but there's something to be said about facing the full ramifications of your choices as a society. Hiding it away where no one can see it diminishes the gravity of the act. If you're going to commit someone to death, have the courage to bear witness.
The founders recognized that democracies are dangerous. They did all they could to avoid a direct democracy. The majority of Americans now want to change the system to be more of a direct democracy. When you can vote yourself benefits nothing will stop you except morality or religion.
@GrandvilleOR@thepiranha@MattWalshBlog I would argue that you are stunting yourself as a parent as well. We learn just as much about life/ourselves/the world while parenting as our kids do by being parented.
@thepiranha@MattWalshBlog It is absolutely on the weird side of things. Reading to a kid involved interacting with them, it isn't something passive that kids do. They interrupt to ask questions. Those moments are times you can teach your kid things about being a man/woman.
@AnalogDreamDev What is the process you use to make the light move as it comes through a window? Is it a volume you create within the level itself, or is it an attribute of the light source itself?
@xwanyex May I ask who the target is? This description of Americans is not historically accurate. It may be now, but that is what we want to fight against.
@davidhughes_phd In 2008, I gave my students a practice Latin exam. They could take it home and use their book and notes to complete it. In class we spent 30 minutes going over every question and when they were done reviewing. I handed out the exact same exam for them to take. Many failed
@IH8JeffreyMaier@wil_da_beast630 I believe most PI attorneys would not file suit in this situation under a criminal standard of proof. The risk of not being compensated would be too high under the standard contingency payout structure. If the plaintiff pays themselves, then the math changes for the attorney.
