For Yorubaland to be industrialized again like the first republic, there must be and aggressive phase out of local migrant traders.

They destroyed many of our industries with fake goods.... fake drinks.... adulterated products sold at knock down prices and bend down select clothes.... This started during the presidency of Babangida.

The Chines presence is a great development. They will eventually bring their industries, and the Government can work with them to build industries as well as source materials locally in many designated free trade zones. This is a much better future for Yorubaland than the silent killers posing as traders selling fake medicine and even adulterated baby food.

The major support Peter Obi gets from Lagos comes from the shop owners…. They claim to believe in competence….. They constantly argue that prices of goods and commodities are high and there is hardship....

Same people are now angry with a people more competent than them… They used to brag that competition is good and are now upset about competition…. Same people who want prices of commodities to be cheaper are now upset that some people are selling cheaper.

On one hand, they did everything to paint South Africans bad for fighting against foreigners doing retail trade in their country… And now they are upset that foreigners are doing retail in Yorubaland.

It is disrespectful for people who migrated to Yorubaland and were accommodated to question the right of local authorities accommodating another group of people that will ease the burden of high prices. The duty of local leaders is not to protect your business interest at the expense of their people.

You cannot protest or claim special privileges in Yorubaland at the detriment of Yoruba people. If you are not happy with the turn of events, go back to Onitsha….

This company.... along with many of the mega blue chip companies you see along Ikeja road came to Nigeria during the leadership of the Sage... Obafemi Awolowo.... from 1951 - 1960.

The sage designed the region such that they sourced their raw materials locally and also built similar home-grown industries to rival them.... farmers and graduates benefitted for the wisdom of the sage.... Among the many home-grown industries of the time are Nigerite... Tower Aluminum.... Nigeria textile mills.... ( A lot of oof manufacturing companies under the O'dua group of companies including West African Portland Cement eventually went extinct.... thanks to OBJ)

Yorubaland was the biggest hub for manufacturing in West Africa in the 1950's...

Then the economic migrants showed up.... they started to import knock off products... sold less than standard products and ran many companies in Yorubaland underground....

They also introduced adulterated products for creams, drugs.... drinks... even baby food...... The brought bend down select... all these slowed down manufacturing activities in Yorubaland.

Now that the Chinese are around... we want sons of Zik to pack and go back to Onitsha.... Yorubaland wants to work with them to build new industries for our time. Ndi developers go home with your substandard products... Yorubaland needs a Chinese breadth of fresh air.

It is important to seperate two things. What makes you a Yoruba Nationalist is not what you know.... (or think you know).... what makes you a Nationalist is 'How You Think'

This kind of thinking is caused mainly by the self-appointed custodians and micro editors... Fela Kuti calls them 'Opposite people'... when you go right, they go left..... The people we celebrate, those are the people they try to pour oil on their white.

I listened in on a session hosted by Anike yesterday and heard someone say Awolowo used to be a 'Yoruba but'.... can you imagine the ignorance and disrespect to the sage.... To say he was once an 'Ife Salako'

The claim was that Awolowo was in NYM which was a one Nigeria party. and it was after that he became a nationalist... and that prior to that, he had no leanings towards regional and ethnolinguistic values in politics:

The sage said in his biography that in 1951, when discussions of a new federal constitution emerges, he had been a convinced federalist for more than 18 years and a fanatical admirer of the Indian National Congress (which was built on ethnolinguistic federalism).. He further said in his biography that if eh had introduced it at the early stages, many would have rejected it (It took Zikism for the eyes of manyto open)

Another interesting strawman fallacy.... was that the sage sided with an outsider for office (Ikoli) over his kinsman (Akinsanya)

First, Awolowo was not qualified to vote in that election.... He also made it clear that he did not side with Ikoli because he believed he was better than his kinsman... He did so because that was the byelaw that had to be followed in principle... Ikoli was the president of the movement and their byelaws said when the president took interest in a position, he should automatically be selected and uncontested.

These are the convenient omissions they miss when they cherry pick issues to disrespect elders and statemen we hold dear.

My candid advice to well meanign Yoruba people.... Don't be carried away by 'Opposite people'.... anyone who demonizes subgroups of Yoruba people or try to make a mockery of the legacy of ancestors we hold dear in our subgroups or ethnic group as a whole is not someone to take serious.

Peter Obi is not supporting Makinde for noble reasons.... He is playing a spoiler's game.... He wants Makinde to help him weaken votes in Tinubu's stronghold of Southwest. He is hoping for two results... either Makinde runs and take a large number of votes that could have gone to Tinubu.... or eventually collapse his campaign into a coalition with Peter Obi.

As we all know, the man is not so smart to understand such complicated battle terrains.... His godfather is OBJ, and we can see his handwriting........ Many of us understand how he plays political chess and this is exactly the same moves he used to eventually bring down Afenefere/AD dominance in Yoruba politics in 2003

The recent rebranding of Charleyboy with his help is also part of the game. He openly cancelled Aitku during a talk show with him... The same man he said he forgave and even endorsed in the 2019 elections. OBJ has never wished well for Yoruba people, and it seems reelections and old age has not changed him.

This is what happens when we indulge and hail spoilers in our midst.... OBJ has been a spoiler since the 1970's... He obsesses about bringing down Yoruba strong men and constantly openly disrespects Yoruba monarchs.... A time is likely to come when Yoruba people will stand up to him and say 'Enough is enough'
