@DYorkeRP@bendreyfuss A couple decades ago, an analog of that graphic was used to advocate for wide screen over full screen. It all depends on the shape of the screen, not the size, and the shape that it was shot in.
@DYorkeRP@bendreyfuss Nope, it’s to maximize it for an imax-shaped screen. It’s closer to a square, so covers a larger area for any given width, but is not dependent on it being larger at all.
@bendreyfuss@mattyglesias I would be all in for watching alan ritchson kicking some dude over the hoover dam then sliding down, then kicking another guy in the chest.
@pescami Hate to disagree, but this isn't really defensible at all. In his own words, he's comparing the snapshot of 16% in a given day to 57% at least once in a year. It is bad analysis.
Common to hear conservatives say, well, we have to stop America from becoming Europe, London, Rome. Well—Europe doesn't have birthright citizenship, and as a result migrants get swallowed up into a permanent underclass. It's one of the most important things we have going.
@Savageboston I’m really surprised at the article as constructed. There’s nothing new except for intra-nyt stuff. That would make sense as an ombudsman-type article, but they haven’t had one for nearly a decade.
