Honestly, the biggest Swift Concurrency trap you can set for yourself is thinking that you need to know _everything_.
Most apps don't need a ton of concurrency. They don't need to use the more complex and powerful features.
Most of the apps I've worked on fetch some data from the network and present that data in a list. No expensive processing, no heavy tasks that run in a background thread.
Don't overcomplicate things unless you have to. Measure performance with Instruments, don't offload to the background "just in case".
Swift 6.2's default settings reinforce this which IMO is a good thing. It helps you get started with a simple setup and allows you to make things more complex if and when needed. That's how code should be written.
If your first thought is to make everything concurrent and async for every project you work on I can promise you, you're making things harder for yourself and you really don't have to.
1-star reviews are more valuable than 5-star reviews.
5-star: "Great app!" (useless)
1-star: "Crashes when I export PDFs on iPhone 11" (roadmap)
Angry users are your unpaid QA team.
If you’re a complete beginner aiming to become a professional software developer, you can’t “vibe code” your way into it.
AI can help, but without fundamentals, you won’t know if what it gives you is good or garbage.
AI is a force multiplier for pros, not a shortcut for beginners.
Ignore the noise.
Learn the fundamentals. Learn to build.
Master your craft.
How do people like to do dependency injection in their iOS apps?
I used to roll good old-fashioned constructor injection without a framework, but these days I’m a fan of Factory by Michael Long.
The real job of a Software Engineer is understanding and breaking down complex business problems to turn into software requirements, considering efficiency, good practices and scalability, given an specific timeframe brought by the product team.
Coding? That's the easy part.
HOLY CR*P
Kamala just pretended to talk to a voter on the phone but mistakenly showed that her phone was open to the camera app. LMAO
