Most indie apps target keywords they'll never rank for. Sextant is a Mac app that maps who ranks for every search around your app, scores each one by fit, popularity and difficulty, and tells you which ones you can actually win.

In this first version I focused on what most ASO tools miss: search intent. Understanding what people want when they type a search is one of the most important things in ASO, that's why it's the core of Sextant.

MCP, Sales data and Apple Ads I left for the next versions.

The story behind the name comes from my maritime background. A sextant is a navigation instrument sailors use to find their position by observing the stars. But sailors need to know which stars to look for to find their way. In the App Store, keywords are like stars, finding the right ones can guide you toward success. That’s exactly what Sextant helps developers do.

@youqi_ai Both! Difficulty is the same for everyone, but Sextant also shows your chance on each search, and that one is about your app. When it's brand new, it shows which searches are out of reach for now and which ones you can actually rank for. Works before launch too.

I've been testing it on my own apps for a while now. Here's the result of one of my apps, after switching keywords to the ones Sextant flagged as winnable, daily impressions went from ~80 to 300+, and first-time downloads jumped 258% 👇
