Thrilled to celebrate the inaugural "Follow the Tumor" @MDAndersonNews - @ACHE Tour! Healthcare execs from across the US explored our top-ranked oncology center—ambulatory clinics, OR suites, pathology lab, proton center, and faculty collaborative space. Grateful to @CarinHagberg, @RosannaMorris, the Academic Affairs team, and @clemensmd, @CrystalCWMD, @EGrubbsMD, @SemharGhebremichael, @SusanMcGovern and @PatrickGarvey for making it happen. Loved seeing leaders engage with our faculty and tech like robotic surgery and proton therapy. Hope they left inspired to advance cancer care! #EndCancer

To celebrate Black History Month, the TSA is continuing to highlight some of our amazing members and what they are currently working on or some of their most recent achievements. Next up is @CrystalCWMD. After stepping down as President of the TSA in 2021, Dr. Wright has remained deeply committed to serving the anesthesiology specialty and supporting her colleagues in Texas and beyond. At the national level, Dr. Wright is serving on the ASA Administrative Council as Assistant Treasurer and was elected to serve as ASA Treasurer following the 2024 ASA House of Delegates. She looks forward to collaborating with her esteemed colleagues to ensure ASA remains strong, financially stable, and well-prepared to support anesthesiologists in their crucial work.

While leadership in professional societies has been rewarding for her, she has stayed committed to clinical care at MD Anderson Cancer Center, providing anesthetic services for patients with complex oncologic needs. Simultaneously, she has taken on a new role as Executive Director of Faculty Academic Support Services where she oversees faculty onboarding, orientation, and career development throughout the faculty lifecycle. Dr. Wright leads the Center for Professionalism and Support & Success, both places to cultivate a culture of professionalism and well-being for faculty. Beyond her clinical and leadership responsibilities, she is participating in a year-long Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) fellowship gaining new perspectives on shaping the future of healthcare leadership.

Of course, life isn’t all work! Last year, Dr. Wright and her husband, Randall, celebrated 25 years of marriage, a milestone that reminds her how grateful she is for their journey together. They are raising two active teenage boys, both in high school, which means their household is always buzzing with energy, activities, and the occasional parental negotiation! She also learned a new skill—playing mahjong! Dr. Wright looks forward to continuing to support the profession and her patients.
