🦜🌸 The Parrot Who Carried a Goddess’s Heart 🌸🦜
In the sacred city of Meenakshi Amman Temple, the divine goddess Meenakshi Amman is often seen with a bright green parrot resting gently on her hand.
A beautiful legend says that the parrot was more than a bird—it was a symbol of love, wisdom, and devotion. Every day, devotees would come before the Goddess with prayers hidden deep within their hearts. Some spoke their wishes aloud, while others simply stood in silence.
The little parrot listened to them all. 🦜💚
It is said that the bird carried the sweetest prayers and the purest thoughts to the Mother Goddess, just as a loving child carries a message to its mother. The parrot also symbolizes gentle speech, reminding people that words can heal, encourage, and spread kindness.
As the years passed, artists and devotees began portraying Meenakshi with her faithful companion. The green parrot became a reminder that true devotion is not measured by grand rituals but by the love we carry in our hearts. 🌺✨
Even today, when devotees look at the Goddess and her parrot, they are reminded that every sincere prayer is heard, every loving word has power, and the Divine Mother is always listening. 🕊️💖🙏
“Om Kaamavallyai Vidmahe Kameshvaryai Dhimahi Tanno Devi Prachodayat"🌺🙏🏻
36 km from Tirupati, there is a temple most people drive right past on their way to Balaji.
It’s called Srikalahasti. And once you know what it actually is, you’ll visit that for sure🧵
The name itself tells a story.
Sri = spider. Kala = serpent. Hasti = elephant.
Legend says these three creatures worshipped Lord Shiva at this very spot to attain moksha. The spider wove a web over the lingam. The serpent offered its shed skin. The elephant poured water from the Suvarnamukhi river over it every single day.
Three creatures. Three elements. One devotion.
The temple is named after all three.
Now here’s what makes it extraordinary.
Srikalahasti is one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalams five temples across South India, each representing one element of nature.
Earth is at Kanchipuram.
Water at Thiruvanaikaval.
Fire at Thiruvannamalai.
Sky at Chidambaram.
And air (Vayu) is here at Srikalahasti.
This is the Vayu Lingam. The temple of the wind. And here is the part that gives people goosebumps.
There is a lamp inside the inner sanctum that flickers constantly even though the sanctum is sealed and there is no wind. The flame moves on its own. For centuries.
This is why it’s called the Vayu Lingam. The air element is said to live here, swaying a flame that should be still.
The lingam is white, shaped like an elephant’s trunk. The priests do not touch it directly even the abhishekam is done with great care.
There is more.
Srikalahasti is the most famous Rahu-Ketu kshetra in India.
Most temples don’t even perform Rahu-Ketu pooja, it’s considered inauspicious.
Here, it is the main ritual. Performed daily from 6 AM to 6 PM. People come from across the country to remove the planetary doshas they believe are blocking their lives.
The history runs deep.
The inner temple dates back to the 5th century, built by the Pallavas. The Cholas expanded it in the 11th century. And Krishnadevaraya of the Vijayanagara Empire built the grand structure in 1516.
It is mentioned in the Skanda Purana, Shiva Purana, and Linga Purana. They call it Dakshina Kailasam, the Kailash of the South.
If you’re ever in Tirupati, give Srikalahasti half a day. Stand in front of a flame that moves without wind, in a temple older than most countries.
Some things you have to feel to understand.
వెయ్యేళ్ళ చరిత్ర, గాలి కదలకుండా వెలిగే దీపం, శ్రీకాళహస్తి అద్భుతం. 🙏 🙏
Her name was Maharani Gayatri Devi.
She was born on May 23, 1919, in London. Her father was the Maharaja of Cooch Behar in Bengal. She grew up riding horses, playing polo, and studying in England and Switzerland.
At 12 years old, she met the Maharaja of Jaipur, Sawai Man Singh II. He already had two wives. After an eight-year courtship, she married him on May 9, 1940, and became the third Maharani of Jaipur.
Gayatri Devi refused to observe purdah. At a time when royal women were expected to remain behind veils, she appeared in public confidently and unapologetically. She later founded Jaipur’s first modern school for girls. Vogue magazine also named her among the ten most beautiful women in the world.
In 1962, she joined the Swatantra Party and contested the Lok Sabha election from Jaipur. Out of 246,516 votes cast, she received 192,909 votes, nearly 78 percent of the total.
It was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest electoral majority ever won by any candidate in a democratic election at the time.
When she visited the United States, President John F. Kennedy introduced her publicly as “the woman with the most staggering majority that anyone has ever earned in any election in the world.”
She won the Jaipur seat again in 1967 and once more in 1971, each time defeating the Congress.
Then came the Emergency.
In June 1975, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared Emergency across India. One month later, Gayatri Devi was arrested on charges of tax evasion.
She was 56 years old and spent five and a half months inside Tihar Jail.
After the Emergency ended, she gradually withdrew from politics. Her husband had died in 1970, and her only son died in 1977. She spent the rest of her life quietly in Jaipur until her death on July 29, 2009.
She was 90 years old.
A queen who won the world’s largest election majority.
A woman jailed by the very Prime Minister she had spent years opposing.
Her school for girls still stands in Jaipur today.

@kengeritrfps@Sudhanva_12@blrcitytraffic This junction is a critical bottleneck due to heavy bidirectional traffic and constant vehicle flow from the adjacent mall and hospital. Frequent U-turns toward the residential entrance, compounded by unauthorized street parking outside the mall, significantly create traffic.
