There’s huge demand for crypto-marketers right now.
I’ve spent the last several weeks interviewing as head of marketing/growth at various protocols.
These are a list of some questions I was asked - prepare for these if you want to go from a junior to senior marketer:
- What is brand? What is narrative?
- Which projects do you think have great brands? Why?
- What is positioning? How would you position our project?
- Now you’ve heard about what we’re building, let’s share screen and whiteboard a GTM together
- Which projects had great GTM? Why?
- What were some of the GTM trade-offs you made at your previous protocol? What did you choose NOT to do?
- Why will people follow you here?
- What would be your 30/60/90 day plan if you joined tomorrow?
- What’s your best campaign? What would you have done differently?
- Walk me through how you go about planning and executing campaigns?
- What did you do when a campaign wasn’t going successfully?
- What framework would you use to assess efficacy of a campaign?
- What framework would you use to measure and assess market validation?
- How do you think about budgeting and managing a budget?
- What would be the first thing you do if you started tomorrow?
- What’s something you learnt about growth in your previous role?
- What are your superpowers? Where will you need to hire?
- How do you create a great culture?
Remember, most protocols are pre-product market fit.
Their main aim is to continue validating demand for the product and run mini experiments to keep pushing mindshare and market share.
Study how DeFi protocols capture TVL, study how competitors are positioned, study what competitor users like/dislike about their product.
Number 1 advice: be genuinely curious, have a tonne of questions and try your best to have a fluid conversation about the protocol, its direction and where you could potentially fit in.
Most of the questions I received are not in the above list - they came as a product of organic conversation and interest.
At this stage, most founders are looking for top executors that have first principles strategic thinking.
Marketers help marketers 🫡 Happy to answer any questions if there are any :)

#2024Predictions — It’s that time of year again and we've asked leaders at Ripple what they think 2024 holds.
@JoelKatz, Chief Technology Officer at Ripple gives his thoughts on what's to come in 2024 and beyond.
I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Business Development Representative at @Seekr_io !
Ironically, after all this time searching for work in Web3 I'm now going to help Seekr make a big shift in recruitment
5 reasons I picked why they are changing the game👇
1) Lower Costs:
no-win, no-fee basis and a 7.5% placement fee (Compared to 15-30% in traditional recruitment), with no upfront cost for employers, and access to a highly-specialized talent pool that not many can compete with.
2) No Fees for Seekrs ❗
3) Signing Bonuses for Successful Placements 💰
4) User-Owned Credentials
5) Credential Creation & Assignment:
When a Seekr is successfully hired, a unique Proof of Experience credential is created and assigned. The same goes for when you receive reviews and in the future when you complete courses. Game changer.
With 300+ successful placements already all over Web3 and Web2 even, we are on a good path to connecting the right people together 🤝
If you are a Web3 company looking to hire from a Web3-native high-talent pool than hit me up in the DM's I would be more than happy to get things going for you!
Thank you @MorganStoneee for the opportunity 🫡
