The biggest lie being spread about age verification is that it’s some backdoor for the government to see everything you do online.
That’s simply not how modern age verification works.
I’ve worked with KYC, AML and age verification systems for years. In nearly all cases, the age check acts as a gatekeeper. It confirms you’re old enough to access a service, then keeps that information ring-fenced within a secure, encrypted system. The website gets a “yes” or “no” answer. It doesn’t suddenly hand the government a list of every site you visit or every video you watch.
The entire point of modern verification technology is to prove eligibility while sharing as little personal information as possible. In many systems, even the verification provider itself has extremely limited access to user data.
People are entitled to debate whether age verification laws are a good idea. But the claim that verifying your age for a website automatically creates a government surveillance database of your browsing history is misinformation from people who either don’t understand the technology or are deliberately trying to create outrage.
Argue the policy if you want. Just argue the reality, not the conspiracy theories.
@Ready2ESC@IfindRetards outside a school people might behave differently, like if I see a guy taking a shit on the doorsteps of a school I'll react, if I see the same guy shitting in an alley I'm just gonna walk on by
@Ready2ESC@IfindRetards I'm saying people defending others from harm is a good thing actually and that these women may not have known what he had done/why he was getting kicked about. if on the the other they knew what he had done then they deserve everything thrown at them.
@Ready2ESC@IfindRetards is there evidence those bitches were DEI programmed zog bots reacting in an engineered way vs just women seeing some fella getting kicked around?
if you're going to internet you need to practice counter-factuals: could this actually not be what I think of it, is my gut reaction different to a normie, am I analysing this objectively or am i applying tpot to real life. maybe he's right. or not. it's a problem for us all.
@ecidgedh@IfindRetards The problem is that they assumed they were kicking the guy because of racism. They are most likely aware of the atrocities migrants have been doing and yet still assumed the migrant was innocent and the crowd beating him up were racists.
@facetedcarapace > the kids will be grown
