Paul Nagy, an educational assistant at Clarke Road secondary school, says violence in the classroom “is worse than people realize.” Nagy said he lost his tooth in an attack by a student. @HeatheratLFP has more: https://t.co/t1DOtCfkJl #ldnont
Premier Doug Ford has called a snap election that will send Ontarians to the polls on Feb. 27.
Here’s where the leaders of Ontario’s main political parties are today: https://t.co/GJDY0byS1Y #onpoli
I've spent my entire life fighting for working people—and winning. Now, I'm running to be your Premier, and I'm asking for your support.

And misogyny has entered the chat
There are several women who have taken on Ford or Trump and won - some of whom I know personally 😉
Women - it’s time to elect a government who doesn’t patronize us, that respects & fights for us.
That simply isn’t Ford & his party
A strike by Western University workers has entered its sixth week and pickets have migrated far from campus to city hall, protesting what one union member called a lack of support from London's mayor. @BrianWatLFPress reports: https://t.co/pB1eIknl35 #ldnont
As @CUPE2361 members at Western University enter their second month of strike action, they continue to feel the support and solidarity from affiliates in their fight against low wages and high workloads ✊🏾📢
@UWOFA and @PSAC610 Presidents spoke out on the reality on campus that scabs can't keep up and the absence of 2361 members is felt.
"I have never seen Alan Shepard so flustered," says UWOFA President about Shepard after a CBC interview.
The Ministry of Labour has also issued H&S violation orders last week, right after the Finance Vice-President, Lynn Logan, wrote to CUPE 2361 saying there were no problems. ‼️
OSBCU President, @joetigani, also joined members on the strike line today, saying "We understand the feeling of being undervalued and underpaid. We learned the undeniable power of solidarity. The 55,000 members of OSBCU have your back." 👏🏽💪🏾
Send a message of solidarity for these members using the eaction here: https://t.co/LckJ8DAFEo
"Our kids need & deserve a safe place to learn, but this school year has picked up right where last year ended — w/ classrooms disrupted daily by violent incidents."
Hopefully, the Ford gov is listening. It's WAY past time to "get it done"! #OSSTF#OntEd

Jill, Jill, Jill
I had hoped that your predecessors had left you notes & that you had read them.
Or that you knew who fought back against you in Nov ‘22.
Our schools function because of 10’s of 1000’s of EDUCATION WORKERS - custodians, EAs, clerical, DECEs - what about them?
Talk about priorities. Areas cut from #tvdsb's budget included photocopies, learning supplies, field trips, and educators. What it did include was a corporate retreat to Toronto and senior staff raises. It's past time for some public accountability. #onted

@LFPress@HeatheratLFP Shame on TVDSB! Our highest needs children go without so these senior execs get a retreat
I would like to mention that the union representing Educational Assistant's and Student Supervisors is CUPE 7575
Doug spends tax $$ on interactive maps to cross picket lines.
Here are maps I would like to see
-fully staffed ERs with minimal waits
-available family drs
-healthy schools w/air filtration, safe water & fully staffed
-mental health supports
-affordable housing
Get ‘er done
Today, the union representing 10,000 school support workers served simultaneous notice to bargain to 41 school districts for the contracts of education workers. 👆👆This is Solidarity
It's common knowledge amongst #tvdsb staff and students that if a student is sent to the office, in most cases, they are given candy and sent back to class. How does this type of "positive reinforcement" improve behaviour? #onted#cdned#edchat
