WATCH | Hi Crime Watch. I would like to bring to your attention an incident involving a kombi driver known as Benji whose conduct on the road was extremely concerning and dangerous.

I have a video showing the driver’s behaviour, as well as a picture of the kombi involved. I would like to share these with you in the hope that the matter can be brought to the attention of the relevant authorities.

Could you please advise if there is a way for this matter to be investigated and for the law to take its course against the driver if his actions are found to have been in violation of the law?

I believe this is important not only for me, but also for the safety of other road users. I would appreciate your assistance in bringing attention to the matter.

When we got into the kombi, he told us that the kombi costs US$1 per person from Ziko to town, which we felt was fair since it was late in the day, around 3pm. However, when we reached the Velvet area, the driver suddenly changed the fare and demanded US$2 instead.

When passengers questioned the increase, he started swerving the kombi from side to side at high speed while saying “ndakudonhedza kombi yacho.” His reckless driving put everyone’s lives at risk, as shown in the video.
