@bmlong137@realEstateTrent Of course it is, point is income tax should go down, inheritance/gift tax should go up.
Generational property that will get stepped up in basis (as posted in OPs tweet) is moronic tax policy. As is 50% income tax rates for W2 earners in high tax states.
Appreciate the comment
I think you may be more focused on being right than thinking about an alternative view. Seems we are at a standstill.
I've enjoyed the discussion though and will sharpen my rebuke to Marxism as well as weigh the effectiveness of grabbing eyeballs with 100% number vs. a slightly lower number but not having the same punch.
100% is directional. As with anything, there is nuance.
Marx wanted workers to own the means of production. I want workers to keep their paycheck.
I want the best capital allocaters to have more money to spend on their ideas.
I want kids regardless of parents to have a fair shot at a great life.
Marxism is collective ownership of the means of production. Take a few minutes a reflect, before jumping to labeling and dismissing.
Estate tax exists most developed capitalistic nations.
Workers adding value to society KEEP it under this system.
Way lower or zero income tax while alive. Live well, educate your kids, give them every advantage.
But at death, what doesn't transfer is the capital itself. Time for them to use their skills to benefit society.
Let me rephrase:
It's taxing wealth AT DEATH instead of taxing your labor while you're alive.
You keep MORE of what you earn.
Your kids inherit your values, your skills, not a trust fund - like OP is showing in his text thread.
Currently the system taxes the worker and exempts the trust fund baby. I think we should exempt the worker and prevent the cycle of generational wealth.
I am actually a die hard capitalist that thinks the system needs a few tweaks.
@WanderingJoule@realEstateTrent Kids can buy it.
I am not resentful, I will get an inheritance.
I like to actually think about other worldviews without name calling.
Cheers
@a69774@realEstateTrent They already steal it while you are alive. Stop stealing when you are alive. Instead pay it when you are dead.
Teach your kids how to make money, spend time with them.
Don't pretend leaving money to your kid makes you a good parent.
@IconRepulsive@realEstateTrent No, its not. Its a great way incentivize the best capital allocators to keep producing (low taxes) while allowing everyone to start closer to the same place (no trust fund babies).
Amazons new DD+7 policy just screwed all Amazon sellers and they are setting up to screw their sellers even more.
For the last 10 years they have paid us the equivalent of Net 7.
They just announced they are moving us to Net 16. (DD+7)
Guarantee we will be at Net 30 by EOY (DD+21) and Net 60 by end of next year.
DD+7 Explained:
Before DD+7: Sale → funds immediately available → wait for biweekly payout. Average sale-to-disbursement: ~7 days.
After DD+7: Sale → ~2 days delivery → 7-day hold → funds available → wait for biweekly payout. Average sale-to-disbursement: ~16 days.
Yo @amznsellerhelp can someone explain to me how this helps my cash flow? lmao. Huge b**ch move by you guys...so obviously I expected it. Seems this is applying to random accounts and no announcement on your news page yet. Amazon been f**king sellers hard the last...
Anthropic just took a big swipe at OpenAI's decision to put ads in ChatGPT. Anthropic is airing ads mocking ChatGPT ads during the Super Bowl, and they're hilarious 😅 Anthropic is also committing to no ads in Claude https://t.co/LR1v4xz9ds
This tweet is making me rethink our Shopify offer strategy.
We have 15 different flavors of the same type of product.
They have wildly different COGS ($1-$5). This means different price points ($10-$25).
Customers love to mix and match.
A clean % off ladder offer seems simpler. For example, buy 4 get 25% off.
Reading this tweet, it makes me think we should do something like Buy 3, Get 1 Free or something else more creative.
@mattepstein@zachmstuck@DTCMidas What would you guys do in this situation?
Stop giving a percentage off in your sales.
Instead give people something "free."
This offer could have been get 50% off any 4 pack.
Instead by 2 get 2 free makes the buyer feel like they are getting WAY more free stuff.
Hormozi talks about this in 100M offers.
