@JeffSendsIt great post. It is never competition/pricing/margins that are the biggest threats to the biz. It is always Amazon themselves and their random shenanigans with policies, restrictions, AH, etc.
@ecomTK not at 10k, but around 2500. It just gets easier with experience. You really just build better systems as time goes on. I remember 6 years ago when we just had a few hundred and it was chaos. I would never have imagined then having over 500 asins
@BernieSanders Will the working class family of 4 be required to pay taxes on the billionaires wealth tax, some of which was already taxed as income tax?
@ecomTK@kong_gets_paid@TomCochrane@Sole_Republican supply of a sku they have on hand/inbound from mfr. If there is low supply, it doesn't matter if you are a mega seller or not, you are paying a premium
@ecomTK@kong_gets_paid@TomCochrane@Sole_Republican a seller with only like $25k in capital can find a distributor from said brand and buy around that same cost/unit. Quite commonly, distributors actually offer better pricing than working with the brand directly. Buy costs from distibutors are largely based on the
@ecomTK@kong_gets_paid@TomCochrane@Sole_Republican yeah i can totally see how a sub $100k/yr seller would experience that price difference. But most legitimate businesses selling on Amazon can actually be pretty competitive on the marketplace from a pricing pov. I personally think the margin is made on the operations,
@ecomTK@kong_gets_paid@TomCochrane@Sole_Republican I am coming from the analogy of a seller doing $20m/yr compared to the guy doing $100m/yr.
If you are comparing a guy who does $50k/yr on amazony to $100m/yr, than i totally get where you are coming from. We might just have different "definitions" and viewpoints here
@ecomTK@kong_gets_paid@TomCochrane@Sole_Republican If it's unprofitable, they are not going to continue supplying the ASIN. Maybe they overbought and are moving units. Maybe a different pack variation went down and they are moving the units there. You can't be unprofitable and stay in this business for long
@ecomTK@kong_gets_paid@TomCochrane@Sole_Republican but they could be moving exponentially more volume on unprofitable ASINs, making them worst off than the guy who just sent in 50 units or whatever.
It really comes down to clean operations, efficiencies, and experience which creates competitive advantages
@CookingCashflow ya really have no clue until you get access and can see behind the scenes. Might be better off with a brand new seller account, who knows the rocky history w/AH violations and such mapped to that seller ID
The current seller account owner of Pharmapacks is effectively closing shop, they only have like 12 active ASINs.
I always wonder what these types of super aged accounts are worth. i am assuming the account is unrestricted/ungated on a ton of listings, but maybe became
