We thank Nicholas L. Ziebarth and @InquiryWEAI. This research is at an intersection of sociology and economics. Previous journals thought it was not economics or it was too much economics. They saw the potential in the manuscript.
@bl_hardy@stlouisfed The new tax law would help decrease income volatility for families with kids. This lower volatility helps families and kids today, and it helps long-run economic growth for the country. The economy will be stronger for years to come because of this investment in kids today.
I want to highlight one additional benefit of the tax law beyond what was described in the excellent piece by @taraelizwatson https://t.co/sG94fqCpyQ
TL;DR Lower income volatility for kids helps the economy grow in the long-run. 1/
@bl_hardy@stlouisfed And just to make this explicit in case it isn’t obvious – additional years of schooling means higher earnings for the kids when they are adults. Higher earnings means a stronger economy for everyone!
