@vanillatary Just in terms of political viability, I don’t think in an America as violent as the one we live in now, you could sell people on limiting what constitutes self defense, but you may be able to in a less violent America.

@vanillatary I feel like any discussion around self defense in a home invasion is discussing the symptoms and not the root cause. I think the best way to stop burglars getting killed for a crime that does not warrant summary execution is to make there be less crime.

@lastpositivist From what I understand this is what MLK was talking about in that “white moderate” quote. people who will treat individual black people respectfully when interacting with them but for black people as a whole, still hold prejudiced views and vote more based on the latter.
