The U.S. Coast Guard, Washington Department of Ecology, Makah Tribe, and Responsible Party (Samon Bay Barge Line, Inc.) have established a unified command to address the pollution threat from an adrift 333 foot barge off the coast of Washington near Cape Alava.

This morning the vessel NIRIIS had a mechanical issue which required the deployment of the Emergency response towing vessel (ERTV) at Neah Bay. The GARTH FOSS is towing the NIRIIS and will meet the DENISE FOSS in Port Angeles to assist with anchoring.

Smoke from wildfires have triggered Southwest Clean Air Agency to issue an air pollution advisory for Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, and Skamania County. Smoke may reach levels that are unhealthy for sensitive groups.

Commencement Bay - TFD is currently working on a boat fire in the bay. @TacomaPD rescued the boat’s occupants from the water, and crews are working to put the fire out.

Gasoline sheen has dissipated and is not recoverable. No observed shoreline impact. No wildlife observed or reported in area of sheen. Ecology responders are on scene and will work with response partners to monitor the area for signs of continued fuel release.

We've received several reports of oiled birds between Long Beach and Lincoln City, Ore. No known source. We're working with @USCGPacificNW and @WDFW to respond. If you see an oiled bird, call 1-800-22-BIRDS (1-800-222-4737).

We are supporting response efforts following the Jan. 22 Ilwaco Landing fire. Our spill responders have provided soft absorbents, information on hard booms, and technical assistance on cleanup.

We are on scene and providing absorbent material to support efforts to contain the oil. We are not seeing a lot of oil in the water at this time.

Spill responders are headed to the site of yesterday's fire at the Port of Ilwaco to follow up on reports of oil in the water. We're working with the facility to deploy boom to contain the oil.
