Still a Philly sports writer. @PHLY_sports, most notably. Some TV for @NBCSPhilly. Teach covering sports betting @RowanUniversity in the fall. [email protected]
Another wildly successful Toy Drive thanks to so many. My girl, @Amy1irish , is at the top of the list. But all of the elves, the staff at Wolf Burger, the local businesses and generous friends & neighbors also made this possible.
Merry Christmas everyone. Here's to you.
@YaBoyCoots Was at a Genesis concert that same night at the Vet across the street -- a Rock concert! -- and we could hear the Spectrum when (presumably) Daigneault scored
There were a few transistor radios in the crowd, but we mostly were kept updated by Phil Collins ... it was unreal
Amen. Such a good dude.
When Mark went into the HHOF, I was hoping to speak to his dad for a story.
It took about a day when I got a call from Mark, driving to Philly with Pop.
"Hey Ed, got a minute to talk to my dad?"
Next thing I knew I'm on the phone with Gordie Howe. Yo.
asked @tgablesports of @BorgataAC if there was a prop out there he's rooting against:
"Both teams to record a safety would be really bad," he said.
LOL
Would help those 5/9 block pool numbers, though.
Some sharps in here, some squares -- but ALWAYS interesting...especially the fellow who has over Maye 222.5 passing yards at -115...not sure if that line/odds exists anymore, but he's as sharp as there is
one of the best things out there this weekend
We had a lot of alt lines given out on SuperStream 60 last night. I ran them through the @UnabatedSports alt line calculator to see which had value:
✅SEA -7.5 +159 🧮: +157
✅SEA -13.5 +300 🧮: +275
✅SEA -16.5 +420 🧮: +391
❌SEA -6.5 +108 🧮: +122
The last line hit it out of the park
“At some point, you break your customers by beating them too fast, and the next thing you know, the experience is not fun,” said Alfonso Straffon, a longtime gambling industry analyst. “It’s not entertainment if you’re beating people to a pulp
@astraffon
The Pats opened -5.5, and I thought it was a gift that it wasn't 6.5 or 7. More proof that I'm as sharp as a cotton ball.
"+5.5, +5 and +4.5 all swallowed up by the sharps on that game," said @tgablesports "We will need the Broncos as public is still backing the Patriots"
Sigh
Beyond humbled, but there are soooo many other people that make this work starting with @Amy1irish@mikekerndn my sisters, our hosts at Wolf Burger, Nicole at Whitman and countless elves.
Hope to see folks on Friday. If not, have a good Christmas.
For more than 20 years, @edbarkowitz has ran a toy drive to make sure kids in South Philly get the Christmas they deserve. Friday night, he’ll get another reminder of why he does it. https://t.co/Egx3zECZg7
In the spirit of our new book, Bullies, I’m posting daily photos connected to the @NHLFlyers of that Stanley Cup era.
@BillClement10 (L) & @bernieparent arm wrestle at Rexy's while flanked by coach Fred Shero & Pat Fietto, the establishment’s owner.
Yo Ed: Congratulations on yet another year orchestrating the Neighborhood Toy Drive. I'm sorry I won't be there but I hope you collect tons of toys! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to all!
Grabbed the first load of toys from the box at the Oregon Diner (they've got a great menu)
@BobCooney76 and I are bartending Friday at WolfBurger (Front & Wolf) for more toys!
New: @LiveCasinoPHL & @CapitalGrille gave us some goodies to raffle off
Join us!
Stumbled on this from the other day:
Aroma on Third, one of the best restaurants in South Philly, now has a liquor license. They're starting off with a modest drink menu that includes server Guido's solid Old Fashioned.
Great food here; 3rd & Wharton. Get the mussels appetizer.
The annual toy drive/guest bartending gig is Friday, Dec. 12 at Wolf Burger in South Philly
This year, @BobCooney76 joins me behind the bar where we'll fumble about if someone orders a mixed drink
Stop around and support a good cause. And if you need a Cosmo, see Bobby
