@1611Willaim@5Solas There is a passage in the Koran that implies that Mohammed *thought* that the Christian trinity consists of God the Father, Jesus, and Mary.
All Muslims deny that the Trinity is a thing regardless of what it consists of, and many deny that Mohammed thought Mary was part of it.
@DonXDoom007@HansFiene@BerryRazi I have no idea who "yall" is.
Your point just sounds like a no-true-scotsman fallacy.
People who claim to be Christians apparently do sometimes get illicit divorces and dishonor the Sabbath and procure abortions. They shouldn't, but they do.
Thats the Pastor's point.
@MagaHunter@BeachFrmFL This just shows how rationally bankrupt the left has become, and so bereft of arguments.
"I think people should dress better and have some self respect."
You: "Racist"
@DonXDoom007@HansFiene@BerryRazi I read it and I believe him.
You haven't ever seen a professed Christian totally back away from their moral commitments when things get tough?
I have. And if you haven't, then you're not taking an honest assessment of your fellow "people of faith", whatever that means.
@thee_ppd@BerryRazi@HansFiene Yes.
Repent of praying that God would give us strength to do what is right even when it may be the most difficult decision of our lives?
No thanks.
Standing up for life is admirable. *And*, God help us to actually choose life when that decision is before us.
@BerryRazi@HansFiene This is a just a silly tautology:
"We humans who stand up for life will always stand up for human life"
The point is that "we" will do so, until, too often, "we" stop doing so.
Let's all pray that the Holy Spirit gives us all the power to do so, even when its really hard.
@EcceHomoVDMA@angcathalex Their logic regarding what denom has jurisdiction is utterly arbitrary
Sure - go find a decent mainline church and try to make it better. Not a problem.
But don't use silly specious extra-biblical jurisdictional legalisms to shame those who don't.
@angcathalex If you think your rainbow flag church is more in line with catholicity than one with solid orthodox belief, then you don't know what catholicity means
@FirstClassGoy@Republicans I'm a grown man, I don't have any pearls, and this is not how I would respond to someone who broke into my house.
But to each his own I guess
@mitchfewell@PastorMark That which unites also divides.
This is no different for a "non-denominational" church, which in practice is usually just the same thing as a Baptist church.
@BobLobl90389332@PastorMark We were thrown out of the Episcopal Church building that our church was renting for over a year. But I think that was a diocesan decision, not a TEC decision.
@PastorMark Most theologically conservative denominations have none of the policies that you cite.
Denominations when they function well ( and most conservative denoms do in many respects ) are a great check on the unitary power of senior pastor who gets off the rails.
Sound familiar?
