i just manage my time well. i run my own NGO @mypocketofpink that has 20+ volunteers, am a scholar in a full time honours degree and in 2 other roles in international funds that invest in youth-serving initiatives (Comic Relief US + UNICEF Young People Action Team for the Asia Pacific)
then i do advocacy because i truly believe in the importance of safe and inclusive education for young boys and girls.
It's perfectly fine if you're not a 'low maintenance' friend.
It's okay to want more from a friendship.
It's okay to desire platonic affection.
We're living in such a hyper-individualistic society that craving for social connection seems so weird.
You're not too much.
@eddthinksdesign Agreed. I also add that you are not that busy too text. It takes 3-5 seconds to acknowledge your friend
People who ask about you are not desperate. They really do care. So please… don’t turn them away.
I ada 2 orang kawan yang bila berborak, diorang tak respon pada apa yang I cerita. Tak tanya soalan, tak curious. Diorang akan cerita pengalaman diorang yg diorang fikir relatable dgn cerita I.
Everyone knows it's considered rude kan?
Sampailah I dapat tahu 2 kawan ni autistic-
While everyone is cyberbullying me online because of a one minute video, happy to say we’ve successfully reached ten schools this year for our Comprehensive Sexuality Education programme, Express to Empower at @mypocketofpink !
We’ve gone to Semenanjung and even Sabah! Collectively our modules have reached 900+ students in our first year with 40+ volunteers collectively.
Our modules are based on the UNESCO 2018 CSE guidelines and are developed by youth, for youth with relevant topics such as cyberbullying (lol), AI safety and etc.
And to think that we ONLY reached 1 year this October 🩷 So proud of my team that literally travel thru everything to provide these kids education to protect them. #makeschoolAsaferplace
Those who claim "we're against her approach" are not even doing something that challenges her approach.
If you think you have a better approach in keeping schools safe, by all means lead the way.
And see if you can garner more support that Ain.
i feel like if we keep estimating people wont understand and catered things to their 'expected' understanding level, we are producing lazy society. human brain is amazing, but often people forget that.
@eddthinksdesign Lagi frustrated bila social cues yang kita dah belajar tu are considered not okay to strangers or different circles and they won't tell us why and go straight to marah 😭 so kena hadap orang marah and unlearn and learn more :')
Crawling isn't innate (unlike walking). Every baby must *invent* crawling, from scratch, using extremely little data, and no reference to imitate. Which is why different babies end up with different ways of crawling.
Sometimes people tell me, "you say AI isn't intelligent until it can invent, but most humans can't invent anything either!" -- in reality, we are all constantly inventing. Even babies are inventors. You couldn't navigate a single day in your life if you weren't capable of invention.
Lastly, common sense is a social construct largely based on neurotypical social norms.
Neurotypical = Someone who thinks and processes information in an expected way for their culture and setting.
Always be ready to challenge your belief, and you'll do 1% better every day.
Inclusivity and diversity is important.
Building a safe community is important.
Accessible healthcare is important.
Being able to be corrected, to be teachable, to be humble with the fact that you don't know EVERYTHING -- are so important.
