Would it be too much to ask of radio show hosts to have a road safety minute every hour of their respective shows?🤔
And in that min. or 30s a safety message be shared with the listeners. e.g., "if you're listening to us in your car buckle up, put your phone away"...etc
Some parent / minder somewhere in this Kampala has no idea that their child's holiday work project was to container-plant a bean at the start of the holiday & return on the first day of the new term with the 3 week old germinated plant. The shock on Sunday night will be premium!
But the day Katushabe Winstone (Mwine Bashaasha) gets arrested for causing loss of unbelievable amounts of tax payer’s money.
I will make a huge party in celebration!
Whoever retweets this is invited to this party because it’s soon!
This @nbstv report on Kampala's air quality couldn't have come at a more critical time especially today when our city has been ranked as having the most polluted air in the world.
As someone who is so passionate about the fight for clear air, seeing these toxic pollution levels reach 11.5 times WHO limits isn't just alarming, it's personal.
While I applaud @nbstv for finally bringing this crisis to prime time, we all know awareness alone won't fix this. Where are:
1. The emergency measures from our city officials?
2. The accountability for industries spewing unchecked emissions?
3. The basic protections for street vendors and boda riders breathing this poison daily?
I challenge NBS and other main news outlets like @ntvuganda , @DailyMonitor ,@newvisionwire and many more to make this a weekly investigative series not just a one off report, to keep Ugandans in the know of their local pollution levels daily, and collectively we can demand action .
Our right to breathe clean air shouldn't be negotiable.
