In 2022, before interviewing for my current PhD position, I read my boss' profile, where she identified herself as an accidental archivist🙂. I guess I'm reaching that edge too. Working on archives and history is drawing me deeper. I love it!

On archives: when I began grad school I was so immobilized by the fact that the women I wanted to write about weren’t visible in archival documents that I almost abandoned the project. It wasn’t until I began expanding my definition of archives that the project became possible.

Yesterday, @gretchenmbauer gave a lecture on Women in Executives and Legislatures in Africa, using the case of Liberia. Exploring existing statistics and women's paths to power, a key question asked was why gender parity matters. It was a good interaction with rich minds!
