God bless Ayo for standing her ground and ending the interview with Mr. Lere Olayinka.
You cannot willingly walk into a media house for an interview and then attempt to cherry-pick which journalist deserves your answers based on your personal perception of who is “reasonable” and who is not. Journalism does not exist to provide politicians with a comfortable environment or a carefully curated audience. It exists, among other things, to interrogate power and demand accountability.
Nigerians have endured years of unreasonable, dismissive and sometimes uncouth narratives from different quarters of government and political actors. Yet, the same political establishment suddenly demands extraordinary levels of formality and courtesy when confronted with difficult questions.
Rufai Oseni represents something many Nigerians desperately want to see in journalism: courage, persistence and an unwillingness to allow powerful people escape accountability through political rhetoric. Whether one agrees with his style at every point or not, there is no denying that his fearless interrogation is one of the major reasons many viewers are drawn to the ARISE Morning Show.
The growing tendency of politicians to hide behind the demand for “professionalism” whenever they are asked uncomfortable questions is becoming concerning. Professional journalism is not synonymous with convenient journalism. Respect does not mean immunity from scrutiny, and courtesy should never become a tool for evading accountability.
Our politicians cannot preside over a country facing enormous challenges, make promises to millions of citizens, and then become offended when journalists ask them hard and difficult questions.
Democracy is not strengthened when journalists become overly deferential to power. It is strengthened when those who hold public office understand that public scrutiny comes with public responsibility.
Fire on, Rufai. Keep asking the difficult questions. Nigeria needs more accountability, not more carefully managed conversations.

Osun is speaking Accordingly
Wole Oke must be disgraced

It is clear that Senator Fadahunsi is not remorseful.
No president and institutions should overlook this kind of democratic threat.
There's no difference between Sen. Fadahunsi and Soliders alleged to be involved in a coup against Nigeria state.
Video: APC’s Senator Fadahunsi caught again on tape telling supporters to monitor selections made by voters, and to deal with anyone who doesn’t vote for Ambo APC, at his polling unit in Ilase-Ilesa, Osun State.
How on earth will another person want to dictate to an adult how and who to vote for.
Osun state election has also shown that thuggery is gender blind.
Video: Another APC chieftain, Mrs. Funmi Haastrup caught on camera threatening to deal and detain voters if they don’t vote for APC’s Bolaji Oyebamiji Ambo in ward 4 unit 4/5, Ikire! #OsunDecides2026
