Happy International Women’s Day to all my amazing sisters in the world! To the men you too can strike a blow for gender equality. Happy to spend my first #IWD with women & men of the @WTO focusing on impact of the pandemic on women & how trade and investment can bring solutions.
Yesterday, our frontline medical personnel, top on the priority list, were vaccinated. Today, as a demonstration of leadership and faith in the safety and efficacy of the vaccines, the Vice President and I received our first jabs.
We need to call out this behavior when it happens. This is precisely what my book Women & Leadership coauthored with @JuliaGillard talks about - the stereotypes women face when they take on leadership positions.
I’m thankful to all my sisters, UN Women Leaders and the 124 Ambassadors in Geneva who signed the petition on calling out the racist & sexist remarks in this newspaper. It is important & timely that they’ve apologized. @phumzileunwomen, @Winnie_Byanyima
Elderly persons who are 50 years & above especially those that live with underlying health conditions such as Diabetes, Cancer & Hypertension are at risk of developing severe forms of #COVID19.
Let's #TakeResponsibility & protect the elderly amongst us.
#StaySafe
REST is as important as WORK. Here's me taking time off my working desk to chill on the cushion. I clearly understand that a good rest is half the work done. Our impact on this journey for the greater good of humanity is explicit and convincing.

We all need to decide whether to "play safe" in life and worry about the downside, or instead take a chance, by being who we really are and living the life our heart desires in continued efforts to make impact. Whichever choice you make will determine how far you go in life...
Autocrats may be happy to undermine democracy in the United States by embracing a premature declaration of victory. But leaders who care about democracy should pay attention to what the voters want, as determined under election rules, rather than what the candidates say.
State Ministries of Health should ensure that all schools communicate closely with the Local Government Rapid Response Team, State Epidemiologist & other State officials regularly.
#TakeResponsibility & adhere to all non pharmaceutical measures on #COVID19 prevention.
The vote count continues, there is no winner yet, and Trump’s claim of victory is premature. World leaders should wait for the democratic process, particularly given the time local officials need to count the large number of mail-in ballots. They should ensure every vote counts.
Gender-Based Violence destroys the Peacefulness of families and psychologically affects both women and children. Engaging men to prevent violence can help to restore those relationships for a better future
