It’s not the time for city officials to downplay what happened last night. We need a new, comprehensive public safety plan that addresses violence and crime in Boston. The Boston Police Department is dangerously understaffed. Note: It’s never acceptable to assault police officers!
The @BOSCityCouncil had an important opportunity today to advocate for recently laid off (union) teachers, paraprofessionals, bus monitors and students with disabilities. However, city councilors failed to provide the moral leadership that was critical during this moment! @BTU66
I filed a resolution urging the City to use reserve funds to restore critical BPS positions before the 2026–27 school year. We have the resources to prevent these layoffs and should not balance the budget on the backs of paraprofessionals and the students they serve.
This week I filed a hearing order for an independent engineering study to help repair & reopen the Blackstone Pool. South End and Roxbury families deserve access to this vital community resource. This is an issue of social, economic, environmental, and racial justice.
Following an incident 6/28 I filed a resolution condemning violence directed @ BPD officers, first responders &city officials. Boston faces serious public safety challenges. We need a proactive plan to strengthen our police force, support first responders &keep neighborhoods safe
This morning I joined MGB nurses on the picket line in support of their fight for fair wages.Standing with our nurses means standing up for quality patient care& a stronger healthcare system. They deserve fair wages, affordable healthcare, safe working conditions& dignity&respect
I stood w/ nurses of @BrighamWomens & @MassNurses in their fight for fair wages, safe staffing&quality patient care. Our nurses care for our families&neighbors every day. They deserve respect, support&the resources to provide the best possible care.I'm proud to stand in solidarity!
It was wonderful to attend this afternoon’s Unity Day Cookout with Councilor Murphy at the West 9th Street Apartments in SB. We enjoyed listening and talking to BHA residents about quality of life issues, public safety challenges and renovations needed throughout the development.
Staffing levels at @bostonpolice are dangerously low. Shifts are not filled, impacting public safety in every Boston neighborhood. It’s not the time for politics. Let’s work together to provide residents with safe and healthy neighborhoods.
It should never be acceptable to assault a police officer or first responder. As city leaders, we can’t ignore the reality police officers are experiencing everyday. Police Officers earned the respect and support from city officials, including from the mayor and city councilors!
My point is fireworks were used intentionally to assault police officers last night. Another officer was assaulted last week. In my opinion, anyone that assaults a police officer should be arrested, prosecuted and if convicted, receive a state sentence! That’s my main point!
#Boston#Schools: Boston will move forward with more than 560 job cuts in Boston Public Schools after city leaders declined to tap reserve funds to prevent the layoffs, despite months of opposition from educators and families: https://t.co/2TsxR6qX7G

Thank you @EdforBoston for talking with me on Oscar Mike Radio. Your legacy of service as a Veteran and service to Veterans is inspiring.
Everybody Matters is something I will never forget.

@EdforBoston Are you seriously using this as an excuse to crack down on fireworks? Is there a single position a Massachusetts democrat will take that isn’t awful?
