Είναι συναισθηματικά δύσκολο. Γιατί συνειδητοποιείς πόσος χρόνος έχει περάσει — και πόσα έχουν συμβεί μέσα σε αυτά τα τέσσερα χρόνια.

Σήμερα συμπληρώνονται τέσσερα δύσκολα χρόνια από την έναρξη του πολέμου πλήρους κλίμακας. Τέσσερα χρόνια πόνου, απώλειας και αντοχής. Τέσσερα χρόνια κατά τα οποία η Ουκρανία αγωνίζεται όχι μόνο για τον εαυτό της, αλλά και για τις αξίες ολόκληρου του πολιτισμένου κόσμου. Κι αν κάποιοι ακόμη δεν κατανοούν με ποιον έχουν να κάνουν, αυτό δεν αποτελεί πρόβλημα της Ουκρανίας. Οι Ουκρανοί γνωρίζουν εδώ και καιρό ποιος είναι ο εχθρ��ς.

Δεν χρειάζονται αποδείξεις για να καταδειχθεί πως η αιματοβαμμένη Ρωσία συνιστά μία από τις μεγαλύτερες βαρβαρότητες της εποχής μας. Ο κόσμος μπορεί να κλείνει τα μάτια, η Αμερική και η Ευρώπη να κουράζονται από τις ειδήσεις, όμως για τους Ουκρανούς ο πόλεμος δεν είναι τίτλοι — είναι ένας καθημερινός αγώνας για τη ζωή. Είτε το θέλει η Δύση είτε όχι, τα ουκρανικά παιδιά θα επιστρέψουν στα σπίτια τους. Τα ίδια παιδιά που η Ρωσία απομακρύνει βίαια προς τον βορρά.

Και η ουκρανική γη θα επιστρέψει. Γιατί αυτό είναι δικαίωμα ενός λαού, η αξιοπρέπειά του και η ιστορία του.

Ο χρόνος θα περάσει και όλα θα βρουν τη θέση τους. Η ιστορία έχει αποδείξει ξανά και ξανά πως οι αυτοκρατορίες καταρρέουν και οι λαοί που μάχονται για την ε��ευθερία επικρατούν. Και είμαι βέβαιος πως θα έρθει η ημέρα που η αιματοβαμμένη Ρωσία θα λογοδοτήσει για κάθε έγκλημα, για κάθε ζωή που διαλύθηκε, για κάθε παιδί που απήχθη.

Η Ουκρανία θα νικήσει.
